The night [music] is dark and full of theories. [music] What if Ned Stark raised Viserius and Daenerys? Let's explore the depths of it in the video. If this video gets 4,000 likes, we'll release part two. Ned Stark sits in King's Landing's Godswood, holding the letters from Riverrun and Starfall in limp fingers. His shoulders heave in silent tears. Robert walks up to him and puts his arm around Ned's shoulder. The letters fall from Ned's hand, revealing the contents to Robert. Ned, I'm sorry. I can't imagine what you're going through right now. Both of them, Robert, Ashara and Catelyn. What's left for me? I know how you feel. I remember when you and Ashara danced at Arinol. Can't remember a [clears throat] time when you looked happier. I know. And now she's dead. And Cat. He shuddters and clenches his fist. After all, he'd lost his father, brother, Lyanna, Ashara, and now Catelyn. According to the letter, Catelyn had had a very difficult birth and had died giving birth to a son. Ned knew that he needed to go there and go there with Jon Snow, which would only insult Hoster Tully. Breathing out, he started shaking and crying. Ned, what do you need? I just want my family back. Robert doesn't know what he can do other than sit with his friend. However, eventually he breaks the silence. >> Ned, I'm going to send Stannis to take Dragon Stone. He's going to need time to build a fleet. I won't need you for a long time, unless you decide to come south and serve on the small council. I have an idea, Robert. I've had enough death. I'd like to try something else. Let me go to talk to the Targaryenss. I think we can convince Queen Riella to surrender now that her husband and son are dead. Ned, they're hardly going to accept that. Robert, I'm sick of all this war. It's taken everything from me. I can only imagine how yellow and Viseris feel. They've lost everything, too. Please let me do this. I don't want to let them go through what I'm going through. Incredulous, Robert stares at his friend and stands up, towering over the small lord. >> The dragon spawn, Ned. >> Ned looks up, pain in his eyes, but also determination. He knows the pain that the Targaryenss must be experiencing and cannot stay idle. Rhaegar and Aries were our enemies. They're dead now. Justice has been served. Riella had to suffer with Aries as a husband, and Viseris is only a child. They've done nothing against you, Robert. If anything, you've wronged them by taking everything away from them. Careful, Ned. Careful. Ned stands up to his friend, knowing that [music] Robert could and would pummel him into the ground without breaking a sweat. However, he knows what he must do. Robert, Riella is a good lady. If you were to give her and Viserious amnesty in exchange for renouncing their claims, the entire realm would see you as a king [music] who has no fear. I'll even take them north, far away from any houses who would raise them up. For a moment, Robert's eyebrows draw together in a mix of anger and consideration. What Net is saying makes sense. Riella had no partner husband's crime, and likely she'd suffered at his hands. Viserius would be a rival, and if he escaped, there would likely be war. However, if he was in Winterfell, away from the loyalist houses like the Reach and Dorne, then perhaps they could be neutralized. With a sigh, Robert puts his hand on Ned's shoulder. Fine, fine, go. But we'll at least send a few guards ships with you. I'll take care of the boy you brought back with you from dawn. There's a storm coming, and a ship, a storm is nowhere for a baby. Ned nods and departs for Dragonstone. As they approach the island, a terrible storm begins rising. Quick, every man to the oars. We need to get to the island of die. All the men scramble the oars, including Ned himself, and start rowing for the island. They're almost too late as the storm starts ripping apart the royal fleet. However, the swells push the ship toward the dock and through the royal vessels. However, as they rapidly get closer and closer to a collision, Ned grabs a hold of the side and yells out, "Hold fast." The collision shatters the ship and sends him h hurtling to the water. Ned is flung from the ship onto the dock, soaking and heavily bruised. Shaking his head, he glances back to his ship, only to find it has been crushed against the dock. Several bodies being borne away to the watery graves by the storm. Shame rises in Ned. Not thinking about the consequences, he runs to the ship and starts helping the survivors to safety. [music] Among them is Robert's personal maester, who they'd brought specifically to make sure that Reela would be in good health. After interviewing the few remaining servants, it had been discovered that the queen was heavily pregnant, and the worry was that after so many miscarriages that she might die. Grunting an effort, Ned attempts to pull another man out of the shipwreck, only to have the man wretched from his grip as the ship is pulled away. Powerless to stop the ship from being pulled down with it. At least 10 men still aboard. Ned watches as the ship is pulled under by the waves. Shaking, Ned lets his hand fall as he forces himself to stand. At this point, he could only make sure that this hadn't been a fruitless venture and that those men didn't die for nothing. When they arrive at the gates, Ned calls up to the guards as loud as he can to be heard above the storm. >> I am Ed Stark, Lord of Winterfell. I've come to speak with Queen Riella and make sure of her continued good health. My intentions are strictly honorable. I've brought only a few men to prove that I mean no harm to those within. >> In the darkness of the storm, he can barely make out anything beyond what a few lightning strikes reveal. However, one lightning strike reveals a man with a thick white beard glaring down at them. A loud lord stark and the maester inside. Ned sigh and relief as they're allowed inside and ushered up to a chamber where a heavily pregnant woman and her sunweight. The silver-haired queen is lying on a bed covered in blankets that accentuate her swollen belly. Viserius immediately gets between his mother and Ned, his hand going to a small dagger on his belt. >> Are you going to kill me like you killed my brother? Rather than looming over the boy, Ned kneels down and extends his hand in a gesture of peace. Viserius only gives him a distrustful look, sighing. Ned keeps his hand out. I wouldn't dream of crossing swords with you, noble prince. I would be too worried for my own safety to truly give you a worthy match. >> Well said, Lord Stark. I apologize for not exactly looking queenly. I would have done a bit more to prepare and not look like a beached whale if you had given me sufficient notice. if you wouldn't mind. I'm not in the best condition for lengthy conversations, so please indulge me by not making me do most of the talking. >> I'm here to give you safe haven, you grace. I have asked Robert to allow me to take you both to Winterfell and ensure your good health. >> Raila pauses and looks at the younger man. She had been 16 when Ned Stark was born, and now he was a man in his early 20s. He had a long face, brown hair, but there was an earnestness in his eyes that made her want to believe in him. Ironically, it was a similar look to the one she'd seen in Jaime Lannister's eyes. >> I'm surprised that he would allow such a thing. I will admit, I would have liked to have seen that conversation play out. It would have been very enlightening at the very least. >> Your grace, I have lost almost everything to this war. I've lost my father, my brother, my sister, the woman I loved, and my wife within the course of a year. I know the pain of losing those you love and would ask you to come to Winterfell so I can ensure that you and your children have a home. Viseris frowns and looks at Ned with skeptical eyes, but his mother places a hand on his shoulder. She can see the pain in Ned's eyes, the agony of loss and heartbreak that you can't escape from. She had experienced similar feelings watching her family burn at Summerhal after Sir Duncan the Tall had rescued her from the inferno before going to try and rescue the others inside. He had never emerged. >> Lord Stark, I appreciate your offer. I would like to talk to you privately without my son present if he is amanable. >> I can't leave you alone with him, mother. >> Viseris, >> rather than argue with his mother, of Viseris meekly walks out, escorted by Willm. Lightning crackles above them, causing the queen to wse. >> Well, I must admit, I would have liked to have meet you under better circumstances. A civil war is not the ideal grounds for friendship. >> And are we friends, you grace? [laughter] >> Gods, that hurts. I would assume that you at least have some kind of protective instinct for me and my son. Or else what happened to Ellia and her babes would have happened to me and Viseris. >> That was Tywin Lannister. I I would have stopped it. I wish I could have gotten there before him. I should have gotten there before him, but I failed. >> I knew Tywin Lannister from when he was a page. Even then, there were seeds of the man he would become. But I didn't see the man who would butcher his benammen without compation and kill innocent babes in their crypts. There was a time that I thought that Joanna could help soften him. But all that came of the two of them was Tywin's heart growing colder. >> Seeing a similar expression on Raila's face that he'd seen on Lyanna's, Ned automatically moves next to the queen's bed and almost by reflex takes her hand. Raila looks down at his hand and hers and smiles slightly. You are forward, Lord Stark. Do you do this with all your ladies or am I special? >> I'm sorry, Grace. I did not mean to overstep. Ned almost pulls back, but Reel gently takes his hand and grips it with surprising firmness. >> A generous deed. It shouldn't be checked with coldness, Lord Stark. It was kindly meant, and I thank you for it. >> Ned relaxes and starts stroking Reala's hand. For a moment, they look into each other's eyes, but Ned breaks the contact first. Riella lets out a girish giggle. What? >> You're rather awkward for a northerner. I expected a gruff, strong, brutish man dressed in all furs of the animals he'd personally skinned. >> Well, sorry to disappoint. I imagine I've disappointed a good many people, including Robert, when I asked to give you both mercy. >> I didn't say you disappointed me. Quite the reverse. In fact, you've rather surprised me in the most pleasant way possible with your earnestness. I thought you didn't want to talk. >> I know, but it's rather hard to let a good conversation go unmet when you have someone you can actually hold a conversation with. Viserius is loyal and occasionally sweet, but he is only six after all. >> He loves you dearly, Grace. >> You can cease with the formalities and call me by my name, Lord Stark. >> Well, then, Riella, you can call me Ned. >> I would not have expected that, actually. I actually like it, but Ned suits you very well. Ned, it is. >> The two of them continued talking, and something begins to grow inside Ned as he looks at the queen. He had only one image in his mind of a frail queen, put upon by the atrocities and madness of her husband. But instead, he saw a woman who could still laugh despite all of the unhappiness she'd endured. A woman of immense strength and fortitude, [music] a woman he could. He pushed that thought out of his mind as a boyish fantasy. Abruptly, Reella clutched at her stomach and started shaking. >> The baby is coming. >> Ned rushes to the door and calls for the maester. He's about to leave, but Reella looks at him with bleeding eyes. >> Ned, please don't leave. I'm scared. >> The birth is difficult, but through the whole thing, Riella holds tight to Ned's hand, fingernails digging into his skin. After several tense hours, the cries of a small baby announce a small girl. Ned gently takes the babe in his arms and hands her to the queen, eyes slightly litted. Riella takes the girl in her arms and starts to gently sing her sing to her. Lulled by the soothing voice of the queen, Ned finds himself drifting off in his chair from the song. When he wakes, the storm is still raging outside, but it has quieted. Next to him, Riella still holds the baby girl. >> Good morning, or whatever passes for morning at the moment. >> Embarrassed that he'd fallen asleep in a woman's bed chamber, Ned immediately stands up, then almost collapses when his head spins. Ria puts her hand over her mouth and starts laughing. Ned gives her a flat look before gingerly taking a seat. >> Isn't she beautiful? I think that Daenerys is a good name. What do you think? >> I don't see how my thoughts matter too much since you're her mother after all. >> Oh, don't worry about that. You did let me crush your hand. Something my >> She pauses, then swallows and turns back to her [music] daughter. Ned doesn't press her. Instead, he opens the door to find Viseris. Were you sleeping outside the door, lad? >> No. Ned knows that the boy is lying through his teeth, but rather than challenge him, he reaches down and ruffles his hair. Come on, there's someone who wants to meet you. Viseris dashes through the door into the room and leaps onto the bed next to his mother to look down at his sister. For the first time, Viseris smiles. Riela rocks Daenerys carefully from side to side and gives [music] Viseris a hug. >> Is Jaime Lannister still in King's Landing? >> The King's Slayer? Yes. >> Don't call him that. His mother was a good friend of mine. He was one of the few people in King's Landing who treated me decently. He was the only one of the King's Guard to try and protect me from Aries. And if my husband was still intent on carrying out the scheme that he was plotting, then he sent me to Dragonstone. Jaime saved the city. >> Ned's worldview breaks. He thought Jaime was an opportunist doing [music] his father's dirty work. But this changed things. Ned had done Jaime wrong. Ashamed, Ned looks down. >> He is proud, just like his father and mother. I can understand why you wouldn't like him. >> Ned's eyes flick up to the queen, who has a slight smile. >> You're not a hard puzzle to solve, Ned. >> Across the ocean, another woman is in the throws of labor. Sarah Blackfire delivers a pair of twin girls to add to the son she'd already given yo mopentis. Excellent. We have all the pieces. I will let Varys know that the children are. When he turns, he sees that his lover isn't moving. Swallowing, he sets the two girls in their cribs and holds [music] Sarah's body. >> I swear to you, our children will sit on the iron throne. That night, Yo places Sarah's body on a p and sets three dragon eggs around her. Shaking, he places the torch near the body. Within moments, the fire catches and surges across it. With a loud crack, the three eggs break open, filling the air with the cries of baby dragons. As soon as the fire burns out, the three dragons crawl out of the ashes to each of the three blackfires. A slow smile crosses Yo's face. Send words to Miles Toin. Tell him that he needs to prepare the golden company for three new arrivals. As soon as the queen is ready, they sail to King's Landing with Viseris and Daenerys. Robert sits [music] on the Iron Throne, looking down at the queen and her children. Now, I'd like to make things straightforward and quick so you can leave for the North as soon as possible. Ned Stark asked for your lives. I agreed on the condition that Viseris renounces his claim and swears never to seek to rebel against me. >> You, Viserius, this must be done, please, for me, for your sister. >> Seeming cowed, Viserius mutters the oath. Satisfied, Robert allows them to depart to the north. But before they go, Ned goes to Jaime. Initially, the young knight appears hostile. Then his hostility turns to surprise when Ned offers his hand. I'm sorry, Sir Jamie. Riella told me everything. I misjudged you. Can you forgive me? I have to admit, I didn't do myself any favors. Apology accepted. If you ever wish to come north, you will be welcome. Thank you. I don't know if I will be able to visit, but I'll bear that in mind. Come north. Help guard them. I will. On the way to Winterfell, Ned stops in Riverrun. Riella is curious about the babe that Ned carries, but she doesn't mention anything. Seeming exhausted, Edmure ushers them into the Riverrun. Thank the gods you're back. The babe has been keeping me up all night, said Edmir. Is my son so loud as that? No, but I've been taking care of him. I like the lad. Well, thank you. I appreciate you doing that for me. Edmure smiles and hands little Rob over to Ned, glancing towards Reella. He doesn't say anything since she is the former queen, but he can see the look in Ned's face when he looks at the older lady. When they arrive at Winterfell, Ned takes Reella to a small cave under the hot springs to show something to Reela and Viseris. [music] This is something the Starks have kept secret since the dance of dragons. There were rumors of Jacer's Valyrian's dragon laying a clutch of eggs here at Winterfell. I'm here to tell you those rumors are true. Viseras's eyes open wide as dinner plates. His net opens a chest to reveal four dragon eggs. One gray and silver, one scarlet with dark flex, another gold, and the final one jet black. Automatically, Viseris touches the black one and pulls it out of the chest so he can turn it over in his hand. >> Can I keep this one? >> Yes. House Stark has been waiting for a time to give these to your family, and now they are yours. Without hesitation, Viseris grabs the gray and silver [music] one before jumping up and down. >> Danny should have this one. >> Over the next few months, Daenerys, Rob, and Jon are encouraged to play together while Ned makes sure to give Viseris [music] just as much attention as the other three children. He has Viserius sit with him as he dispenses justice and Viseris often asks questions. Reela watches Ned interact with his subjects and lords. Often she offers her own additions. The Northmen come to love Reella with for her wit and grace, often silk calling her the queen who came north. Whenever Ned finishes with his duties, he spends his time with the children, making sure that Rob feels like he's one of them since he looks the least like the others. But when they are put to sleep, Ned spends his time with Reela. One night, during a walk through the castle, Ned and Riella stop in front of a tapestry depicting Alaric Stark kneeling before good queen Alisain Targaryen. Riella gently runs her hands over her ancestors face, smiling slightly. >> There was always a rumor that Alisain and Eric fell in love here while King Jiharius was dealing with the embisseries from the free cities. Nobody could say whether they were consummated their affections. But there were oddities about how cold he was at the start, then how warm he was to her. But not to Jiharis. >> I don't know about that. It makes for a good story. After spending some time here, I can see why she might have liked a stern northern lord with a good heart. You Starks are a refreshing lot. But there is something I have been curious about. >> What's that? >> Who is John really? I know you and I don't believe that you would be able to look at Rob without shame if you had strayed. Ashara Dane spoke highly of you, but I sent her to Starfall a little before the rebellion to keep her safe. However, there isn't a possibility of the babe being hers since she was in dawn during the rebellion away from you. I am sorry if I'm touching on a sore subject since she has passed, but I must know." >> Ned slowly reaches out and takes the queen's hand. Her eyes flick to his hand, then to [music] his face. "He's your grandson." >> Riella stares at Ned for a moment, then everything clicks together in a single instant. >> Rhaegar's child with Lyanna, your sister. Ned nods and glances away, but Riella throws her arms around him. >> Thank you, Ned. Thank you. >> For a moment, Ned holds Reela in his arms. Riella gently kisses Ned on the cheek, fully expecting him to release her. Instead, he keeps holding her, smiling. She relaxes into the embrace. After simply holding each other, Ned disentangles himself and looks into her eyes. Riella thinks that he's going to kiss her, but instead, he looks away. >> I should escort you to your rooms. >> You should, but do you want to? They stand there looking into each other's eyes. Then when Ned makes no move, Reella lets her hand drop. >> Thank you for showing me this, Ned, and for trusting. >> Ned puts his hand behind her neck and kisses her. Riella reciprocates and kisses him back. For a long time, they stand there in front of the painting of Elleric and Ellis. [music] The next morning, Ned and Riella are married in the Winterfell Godswood with Viseris watching the ceremony. When Robert hears about the marriage, he hurls a wine flagging against a wall with enough force to shatter it. He betrayed me. Filthy bastard. >> Robert, these things happen. Please, Ned is as loyal to you as I am. >> He's married a Targaryen, the mother of the filthy bastard who kidnapped Lyanna. This is not treason. Ned was likely lonely and and she took advantage of him. I wasn't going to say that. The man wants to bed dragons fine. He can stay with them for all I care. Only a year later, Riella gives birth to a baby, a girl named Alisain. And when she's born, a crack comes from the chambers. Ned and Riella wake up and run to the crib where something is curled around Ellis. At first, Ned thinks it's a snake. Then, it unfurls its wings and hisses at them. Another set of loud cracks comes from the room down from them. Glancing at each other with worry. Ned and Riella extract Leisane from the creature in the crib and run to the rooms down the hall and find Jaime standing next to Daenerys and Jon's cribs while Viseris stands in front of the three more dragons. Seven [snorts] hells. Riella has her hand over her mouth as she looks from her children to Ned and back. Viserius is holding the black in his arms as it clamors over him. Should I put them down? Viseris cries out that they can't. They're theirs. They can't die. Jaime swallows and glances toward Ned. Viserius demands to know why Jon has a dragon, too. He thought that only the Targaryenss could bond with dragons. Jaime<unk>s eyes seem to have the same question in them, but he doesn't voice it. >> Viseres, I need you to listen to me carefully. We need to take them to a place where they won't be found. >> Skeos, nobody goes there. >> Let's go. We have to get them away. >> Viseris asks if Jon is a dragon seed. Reala glances at Ned, then takes her son in her arms. >> No, he's not a dragon seed. Come on, Viseris. I need to go. >> Ned and Jaime quickly spirit the dragons to Skagos and let them loose on the island. On the way, Ned tells Jaime the secret of Jon's parentage and swears him to secrecy. Jaime is shocked but eagerly agrees, seeing an opportunity to keep his promise to Rhaegar. Daenerys and Jon are too young to really process seeing the dragons, but Viseris still remembers. Though Ned and his mother ask him to keep the secret, he still wishes he could have the dragon back. More time passes until the Greyjoy rebellion. When news reaches Winterfell, Ned decides to bring Viserius with him. Reela asks that her son not come to the war, but Ned counters that he will have to take the combat training into the field at some point. With this, he'll be able to protect Viserius by having him at the midst of his forces against the Ironborn. Finally, Riella relents and allows Viseris to go with Ned as his squire. The fighting for Pike goes well for the royal forces. Ned and Robert eventually fight together while Viseris fights next to Jorah Mormont. The Ironborn surge at the Royalists, among them, Victorian Greyjoy, trying to create an opening. The Iron Captain charges toward Ned with his ax in hand. Ned meets the Reaver with Ice in two hands, swinging the huge greatsword in wide arcs. However, Victarion's ax manages to hook ice out of his hands before smashing Ned in the face and slashing a cut in Ned's arm. Before Victarion could deliver a fatal blow, a flash of silver hair and a swinging blade comes from behind him. >> GET AWAY FROM MY FATHER. Victarion turns right as Viseris slashes at his leg. Bellowing in pain, Victarion swings wildly with one hand while clutching his leg with the other. Viserius dodges around [music] the attack, then darts with his sword on Victarion's weak hand and opens up another gash on the Iron Captain's weak leg, causing him to fall. Taking advantage of his enemy's do dropped guard, Viserius drives his sword into the space between the Gorget and the helmet. Victarion coughs once, then goes still. Ned looks at the young prince, then pulls him into a warm hug. Robert watches his friend embrace the dragon prince and his fury starts to mount. Ned had betrayed him. The boy called him father. >> Bring me Balon Greyjoy. The rebel king is brought before Robert, face set in a mask of anger and resignation. I surrender. [clears throat] Oh no, I'm not in a forgiving mood. Balon's eyes widen before Robert brings down his hammer on his head. Ned and the others flinch and avert their eyes from the ruin that remains of Balon Greyjoy skull. Eyes narrowed, Robert turns his gaze toward Viseris, blood covering his face. He doesn't say anything. He just rests his scarlet stained hammer on his shoulder and walks out. Instinctively, Viseris moves closer to Ned, who puts his arm around the boy's shoulder before walking out of the castle. Back in Winterfell, Raila is sleeping when Elisa runs into the room crying almost incoherent with fear. The little girl explains her dream. >> It was real, Mama. I saw it. >> What did you see, sweetly? A man with white tree roots growing through him. I know what I saw. He told me something. That I would be needed beyond the wall. >> Oh, sweet one. It was just a nightmare. >> But mama, he mentioned you and father. He told me that you would need to prepare for war. >> A war? Well, maybe this mysterious man was just telling you about the Greyjoys. That must be it. You should thank him. >> But mama, he said his name was Brendan Rivers. Riela pauses at that name, a name she hadn't heard in a long time and had not spoken in Alisain's hearing. >> Go back to bed, sweetling. In fact, why don't you stay with me for the night? >> Rather than take the straight path to Winterfell, Ned takes Viseris to Harrenhal. Lady Went welcomes Ned and Viseris, allowing them to roam through the halls of Black Heron. Thank you, Viserius, for my life and what you said. I meant it. You're my father. I need to tell you something, Viserius, about the Tower of Joy. Where you found Lyanna? >> Yes. Listen carefully. >> Viserious listens intently as Ned lays out the whole story and how the king's guard had refused to surrender his sister to him. The fight that had ended with Howland Reed saving him from Arthur Dayne and finally discovering Lyanna and John. So, there you have it. The whole story. You saved my life. So, you've proven yourself as ready to hear the truth. So Jon is the heir and he hasn't renounced his claim. Yes, but I don't want to dethrone Robert. I want you to join me and your mother in keeping Jon safe. I don't want him used for political purposes. Same as [music] you and Daenerys. I want you all to have normal childhoods. >> Viseres nods, but his mind starts working. Viseris, I want your word that you won't try to push Jon's claim unless there's no other choice. I promise. When Ned goes back to Winterfell, Raela and the children are waiting for him. When they do arrive, Riella gives Nod a long, passionate kiss. Mother, >> I've missed Ned Viseris. Forgive me if I want to let him know how much I missed him. >> Rob and Daenerys and Jon follow quickly after while a nurse holds. Immediately, Rob and Jon start pestering Viseris for details. As Riella quickly ushers him to their rooms and locks the door behind them. After a passionate afternoon, they lie together on the bed. >> So, tell me what happened. Viserius got his first kill. He saved my life. Victarian Greyjoy. >> Well, he is Rhaegar's brother. >> He called me father. >> Riella leans her head against Ned's shoulder. >> He loves you, Ned. You've stepped up for him, for all of them. >> I told him about John. I felt like I owed him that. >> Will he keep it to himself? If something happens to me, I want him to be able to stand up for his nephew and sisters. >> As Ned and Reela cuddle against each other, a plan starts to form in Real's mind. A plan to retake the Iron Throne. Years pass and across the ocean, the three Blackfire children are shaped for war as best that Yo and Miles Toyen can manage. Rather than go near the free cities, they take up residence in the east. That way, they can let the three dragons grow up. Damon Blackfire is the model of his ancestor while Kayla and Asia Blackfire look like mirrors of Raineies and Venia. Damon Blackfire looks over a map in his command tent, carefully planning out the campaign. His sisters are out riding, likely horses since if they raced their dragons, Kayla would beat Eenya, which would leave her in a rather foul mood. The past few times we've tried to invade Westeros, we've tried to use the lesser houses resentment. But now that the rains and tars are gone, the Greyjoys have been smashed and the peaks are gone. We have to rely on the great houses riders in Cummings. Silver hair. Damon exits his tent to see his sisters riding into camp. Esena just barely outpacing Kayla. >> Well done, little sister. Maybe next time you'll outpace me. I'm not that much shorter than you. >> The only one who gets to call either of you little sister is me. They all laugh and enter the [music] tent, then begin setting their plans. We're almost ready, but there are going to be obstacles. Unlike when Aegon came, the realm is somewhat united. >> Come on, brother. We have dragons, just as Aegon did. Aegon annihilated the seven kingdoms, except for Dawn. >> I would like to have three of the seven firmly behind us. If we are seen as liberators from the Baratheonss, we'll have a larger support base. >> Tywin Lannister will likely fight us due to his grandson being the crown prince. But perhaps we can offer deals that might make him help us. As I recall, during the dance, the Reach, Stormlands, and Westerlands all supported the Greens against the Blacks. Could it be possible that we could appeal to them and even bring in Dawn? >> I was thinking the same thing. Based on our intelligence from the Spider, there are several marriage opportunities. If one of Tywin's grandchildren is grafted into our family, that could cement the wealth of the Lannisters on our side. >> Tywin would be an excellent ally, but I very much doubt that Dorne will fight alongside Tywin. In that case, we'll have to find a different lion to join us. Smiling, Kayla passes her hand over a red jewel around her neck. Instantly, her hair color changes from silver to brown, and her purple eyes change to brown as well. >> They won't know me from any other merchant. >> Excellent. Meet with Varys in King's Landing to convey my plans for the Resttolins. I need him to locate our gift for the Lannisters. While you work as our ambassador in Dawn and the Reach, Esena and I will bring the Unsullied and Dothraki to our cause. Don takes flight on Bolyrian, his large black and red dragon. His sights on the Dothraki sea. Essenya follows on her white and gold Maraxis. While her siblings fight to fly toward the horse lords, Kayla soarses away on her green and bronze vagar toward the Stepstones. In the north, it is idealic as one could ask for. The four Winterfell children have become a tight-knit group. Rob and Jon go everywhere together, though sometimes they get into trouble with Viseris, especially when they do something that might get Jon hurt. Robert gets away with more things than Jon, though sometimes Viseris gets himself into mischief with the younger boys. Daenerys [music] and Elisa grow up roughousing with the boys, though since Daenerys is rather shorter than her opponents. Rob and Ally are often in the Winterfell Library studying the older texts about [music] wargs and skin changers, especially while Rob studies military texts. While the others hone their minds, Viseris trains with the sword with Jon. Though Ned often sends him out to adjudicate disputes along with Reela to further integrate them with the north. Whenever they go, Viseris always brings Jon with him so he can see how to rule. Eventually, Viseris turns 17 and Riella starts considering options. Ned, [music] do you think that we should have betrod Viserius to someone? >> You're right that you have someone in mind. >> Riella puts a list in front of Ned, who looks through the options. >> Is there a reason why you've put a good number of high ladies on this list? This could be considered a threat, especially if a very prominent house like the Tyrells or Martell. >> Yes, I was considering the Martell and Tyrell for Rob. Both Marjgery and Ariana are eligible, and they would be powerful allies. Hm. >> Let me write to both. >> I was actually thinking that I would bring the offer to them personally. >> Rihanna, I know what you're doing. >> This is a dangerous [music] game you'd be trying. >> I'm just a retired queen. I'm no danger to anyone. >> Can you tell me what your plan is? If you're going to make a play, I want to know what it is so I can back you. Riella outlines her plan to betro the rob to Marjgery and Viseris to Ariana, especially since she knows how Jon and Daenerys feel about each other. Ned shakes his head, clearly unhappy with the idea of Jon marrying his aunt, even if they are the same age. But Riella takes him to the window to watch the two talking under a tree in the godswood. >> It's like the two of us, Ned. Let them have each other. Both Rob and Viseries will like those matches. I don't know how you're going to convince either Mace Tyrell nor Doran Martell to betray Viseries to either of their daughters. >> I believe Doran and Oberin have a few specific pressure points. Also, Dawn is not considered sufficient by the other kingdoms. Besides, it will be seen as the Targaryenss indulging in their tastes for the Dornish. >> So, you think that if you offer a chance to kill Tywin Lannister, the Dornish will make a politically disadvantageous [music] marriage? Not if Jon is crowned king and Viserius has made his hand. >> Ned turns and stares at Reela in contrast to his stunned expression. Reela is completely calm. Raela. >> Ned. Jon has been hidden in the shadows, unaware of who he is. What he is. Isn't it just in honorable to give him what was taken from him before he was born? And Daenerys, she was born to be a queen. You've seen how she interacts with the parishioners. She's as good as Viseris. Ned puts his hand on the window sill, watching Jon plant a kiss on Daenerys, then flailing and falling over when she tackles him in reciprocation. A slow warmth starts to grow inside him as he remembers some of the times where he and Riella had walked in the godswood. All right, I'll back you a bit, but I can't betray Robert. After he passes, we move. >> Riella embraces him. Then her eyes find another pair of young people riding through their gates. Viseris and Daisy Mormont. Immediately, she releases Ned and points down at the two. Hm. Well, looks as though you'll have to adjust your plans, my love. Riella rubs her temples and walks out of the room. Perhaps Ally would be all right with a Tyrell boy and Rob would be accepted by Dorne Martell or vice versa. As soon as they calm down, Viseris runs up to them and embraces his stepfather and mother. Mother, father, Daisy's agreed to be my wife. Mage has already given us her blessing. >> Well, I'm glad that my son hasn't decided to marry a fearsome she bear. Well, when Visari's Kraken Bane asks for your hand, you can hardly say no. >> Viseri's Kraken Bane. >> He killed Victarian Greyjoy and saw off a group of Ironborn raiders from the island a week ago. Kraken Bane seemed [music] like the best choice. >> Within the day, Rob and Riella depart for High Garden. Daenerys and Jon wave while Ally hands Rob a book, the young dragon's war journal in case he needs it. >> Thanks, little sister. I'll probably need it. Across the ocean, Astapor Yungai Marine is now under the control of the Golden Company. After the surrender of the Dothraki to the dragons, Damon and Ashena took the slave cities in a series of raids using the [music] screamers supporting the Golden Company. Damon Blackfire looks over the city as the slaves are released from their shackles and offered new lives in the Golden Company. Prince Damon, the Unsullied Inastapore have joined us in exchange for their freedom. Well done, Captain General. It's almost time for us to return to Westeros. Bolyrian has only somewhat been sated. >> Above them, the large black dragon bellows out a roar as it rears up at top the pyramid. Kayla arrives in the red keep under the shadow of night, hiding vagar in a seaside cove. Welcome to Westeros, princess. I have prepared the letters and proofs for the Tyrells and Martell's. I believe you will find them satisfactory. >> Thank you, Lord Veries. >> I do have a piece of information for you. Raila Targaryen is going south with her stepson, Rob Stark. So, you should hurry with your fearsome beast to ensure that the Tyrells know who to stand with when the time comes. Kayla nods and quickly takes her leave to fly toward High Garden. The courts [music] of High Garden is just as beautiful as Rea remembers, and all of the pageantry of the Reach comes out to meet her and Rob. As they enter Ma Tyrell's audience chamber, the Fat Flower himself, along with his wife, Airi, High Tower personally, meets Raila and Rob with every possible courtesy. Though the person Rail is most pleased to see is the queen of thorns. >> Your grace. Oh, sorry my lady. It is good to see you after all these years. >> And you, Lord and Lady Tyrell. It has been too long. >> Real dear. The North agrees with you. >> Olena, I have missed having your sharp wit up in the north. >> I imagine that you heard a rather dull conversation without us. Mace Allerie, would you be so kind as to show this young wolf around? Maybe introduce him to Garlin and Loris. >> As soon as Mace and Larry are gone, Oena and Raila retire to a side room. >> I have really missed you, Raila. Though I imagine that you are having a significantly better time with someone like Ned Stark than that animal you were married to. >> Quite so. Ned is a good man. I am very fortunate. >> And yet your son, Viseris, has effectively been disinherited with very little to offer. >> Perhaps another option. Rob and Marjorie or Alisain and Garlin or Willis would be a good match. >> I am very sorry, but we cannot accept that offer. In fact, we've already agreed to a match between Garlin and a lady in the free cities, and Marjgerie is betrothed to Renley Baratheon. >> Riela frowns and leans forward. For some reason, Elena looks guarded. >> Elena, I'm surprised that you would move so hastily. >> I'm not one to stand in the way of love matches. I myself made sure old Lothar married me rather than marrying a Targaryen. >> Realista's suspicion spikes. Oena Tyrell was as shrewd a woman as had ever been born. She wouldn't allow two prized [music] pieces to move to that kind of mash. Also, Renley was rather notorious for not being overly fond of female companionship. Trying to appear eager, Riella takes Selena's [music] shriveled hands and hers. >> My old friend, surely we can come to some sort of arrangement in terms of joining our houses. I'm sorry, Riella, but the red dragon has fallen. I can't say much more. My house is private dealings, after all. >> Blinking, Riella pulls back her hand, only to have Elena take them again. >> Always remember, my dear. We owe our house to the Targaryenss. We do not forget. >> Riela frowns, then feels Elena slip something into her hand. A small locket with a red dragon carved into the gold and rubies. >> I was very saddened to hear about your son. He had his head in the clouds too much for his own good, but he was a good boy at heart. >> Raila swallows and holds back a swell of emotion, then embraces the old woman. >> Stay for a week or two, I insist. I think Rob at least would like to see Knights of the Reach in a tournament. >> Rela agrees and then departs for the rooms that have been prepared for her. Once she's alone, she opens the locket to reveal a small note with a black three-headed dragon drawn on it. As Reala leaves, Kayla Blackfire enters from her side room. her glamour removed and her Valyan features on display. >> Impressively done. Was that in the locket? And since this is rather important, please be honest. >> Nothing but a keepsake that was in my possession for a long time. >> After a moment of examining the old woman's face for dishonesty, Kayla shrugs and puts the glamour back on. >> Very well. I cannot. Now, that was the old queen, right? And her son. >> Stepson. Her husband is Ned Stark, Lord of Winterfellair. >> Kayla strokes her chin, then makes a decision. If she could turn the head of the heir to Winterfell, then they could bring another house to their side. Besides, he was quite pretty. >> Keep them here for as long as possible. I have something that I mean to get before they depart. >> Elena has a good idea of what the Black Flyer girl wants, but she doesn't say anything. Rob looks around in amazement, finally seeing a city from the books he'd read. There was so much going on. He wanted to see every sight, hear every sound, touch every merchant's wear. Abruptly, he feels a tug on his belt. Then he sees someone in a cloak dash away with his purse. Hey, stop. Rob's guards call out and try to restrain him, but he gets in front of them too quickly. The chase between Rob and the thief goes through the streets of High Garden, the vendors leaping out of the way, the Lord chasing the culprit. After dodging through the stalls and clamoring over wagons, Rob closes in and reaches out for the thief's cloak. Got you. The cloak slips through his fingers [music] as the thief darts into the alley. Damn it. Not wanting to lose his pride along with his purse. Rob runs into the alley only to met be met with a knife. >> Sorry about the rudess, my lord. But I couldn't really get to you without your minders. >> So, you were after me, not my purse. >> In a manner of speaking. Meet me at midnight at an inn called the silver perch. I'll give you your purse back. But as a sign of good faith, take this. >> Casually, she tosses the knife to him along with a few of his coins before darting off into the crowd. Rob blinks and looks down at the knife, surprised to find that it is very wellcrafted and there's a three-headed dragon on the hilt. Only instead of a red dragon, it's a black one. Intent on solving this mystery, Rob waits for [music] his guards to catch up, then returns to the main castle. On the way, he buys a set of plain clothes, claiming that they're for riding or sparring. [music] As soon as nightfalls, Rob slips out of the castle, heading straight for the silver perch. When he arrives, he finds something he hadn't expected. A pretty girl with Valyrian features leaning against the door, swinging his purse around her finger in time with the musicians playing near them. >> You're on time. Well done, Lord Stark. >> You have me at a disadvantage. Can I ask who you are? >> Kayla from Volantis, and I only know your surname from the wolf on your purse. >> Rob, my name's Rob. >> Well, Rob Stark, I will trade your purse for my knife and a dance. It seems like a fair trade to you. >> More than fair. I agree, Kayla from Volantis. The two of them dance through the night until finally Kayla gives Rob a kiss on the [music] cheek and runs off into the crowd after whispering an invitation to meet her again the next night. Riela doesn't remark on her son's strangely dreamy demeanor for a few days, but eventually she decides to step in. >> Rob, can I ask the name of the girl that has stolen your attention? I know it's not Marjorie since you've barely spoken to her. >> Mother, she's a girl from Volantis. She's visiting, but >> but you have feelings for her. I know that feeling. Your father had a similar experience with Asha Dane before meeting your birthmother. And I was infatuated with Tony Knight. >> Really? Who was he? >> It's not important. But the future of our house depends on you making a good match. Having a youthful infatuation is to be expected. And while me and your father were a love match, it was only after he had cemented an alliance with the Tullies to win the rebellion. >> So I should stop seeing her. No, just keep your expectations tempered. Don't set your heart on this girl for your own sake. >> Rob nods, but as he keeps seeing Kayla, the stronger he feels about her, and despite herself, Kayla finds herself falling for the young wolf as well. On one last night before she's set to depart, [music] she gives him a kiss before promising to meet him in Sunspear. Raela's welcome in Sunspear was as warm as the reception in High Garden and equally fruitless. I am very sorry, Ria, but my daughter is engaged to a Pentohi nobleman, as are my sons. >> Interesting. The Queen of Thorn said something similar about her grandchildren. It seems like Dawn and High Garden have developed interests in the affairs of the free cities. [laughter] >> Indeed. There's a great deal of wealth to be had in Essos, and my wife has been most helpful in creating opportunities. >> I see. Doran, is there a place I can speak to you and your brother when no one can hear? Any questions you have for us can be answered here. >> I can provide a great amount of support to whatever scheme you have planned. My name still carries weight in the Seven Kingdoms, and the North will follow where I lead. >> I do apologize, my lady, but the North is rather removed from the politics of the Seven Kingdoms. If Dorne calls for your aid, it's not likely that you could fight your way through the Stormlands of the Reach to come to our rescue. Considering the fact that Marjorie Tyrell is going to be married to Brenley Baratheon, and if you are all involved in some conspiracy in the Free Cities, we could catch Tywin Lannister between us. >> No conspiracy exists between Dorne, the Reach, and the Free Cities. However, we have our own plan to deal with Tywin Lannister. >> We all know that he was the one who ordered the deaths of Ellia and my grandchildren. With the North and Dawn together, we can put an end to the old lion. I am very sorry, Rihanna, but with Tywin Lannister's daughter and the grandchildren on the throne, there won't be anyone to challenge his hold on the Seven Kingdoms. >> Raila pauses then considers the risk of revealing Jon to the Martell brothers. When she thinks of Elena's eyes, however, she decides otherwise. The story between the two was too similar. >> Very well. I appreciate your time, Prince Doran. Prince Oberin, >> at least stay for a fortnight. Let the wolf enjoy Dorne. He may not have a chance to come south again for a long time. Best to have a taste of true summer before going back to cold call the north. Rail accepts the offer, thankful at least that Rob would not be sneaking out to meet with his Valentine girl. However, when he slips out of the palace, she quietly asks for over oberin to have him followed. The red viper smiles and bows. But when he only says that he will meet with a Valentine girl without giving a name or other information, Ria becomes more suspicious. Something is wrong here. On the final day in Sunspear, Rob meets Kayla and invites her to come to Winterfell. You're very sweet, Robert. But while I'd like to visit you, I don't think the North would like the wares that my family pedals, and I can't afford the trip over land. I'll send you a message when my ship arrives in Pentos, and there we can meet perhaps. >> I'll wait to hear from you. Soon after, Reel and Rob return from Dorne. News of John Aaron's death reaches Winterfell, along with a request for Ned to serve his hand of the king. Initially, Ned wishes to refuse, but Raela sees this as an opportunity to build bridges and [music] weaken the Lannister control. When a letter from Lysa to Ned arrives claiming that Ned Lannister killed Jon Aaron, Ned makes his decision, he'll take Rob with him as his aid, trusting Viseris and Jon to take care of Winterfell alongside Reella. When they arrive, Ned is shocked at the state of affairs. The realm [music] is beggar, corruption is rampant, and something seems off. Stannis is on Dragonstone. Renley has vanished, and Robert is completely uninterested in ruling. This is worse than I ever could have believed. Rob, can you take care of surveying the state of the gold cloaks and investigate whatever John Aaron was searching? Will I take care of the realm? I will, father. Then take Jaime Lannister into Sir Barristin with you to help. Even if the Lannisters might have killed John Aaron, I know Sir Jaime is a good man. For the next few weeks, Rob works with Jaime and Barristan to uncover the mystery. Jaime is stunned at the letter and confirms that John Aaron was investigating something with [music] Stannis, but he didn't know what it was. Rob suggests sending a letter to Stannis, but Sir Barriston advises that that sort of thing should be entrusted to a messenger, not a raven. One irritation for Rob is the crown prince Joffrey, often taunting Rob when they clash on the sparring field. Something the master at arms has to hold Rob back from attacking Joffrey when he talks about Catelyn Tully and wonders if Rob was a bastard like Jon. Maybe since you look more like your mother, you're the bastard. Joffrey squeals and attacks. The Hound holds firm onto Joffrey while Harwin keeps Rob back. However, the conversation makes Ned consider golden hair when the others have black hair. But who? He leans back in his chair, then decides to talk with Sir Jaime. When he tells Jaime, the King's Slayer's face turns red. I have suspected those children weren't Roberts after seeing them during visits to King's Landing, but I never had proof before. Now, do you know whose they might be? Or Waters? She's always liked him. and the timeline for when he's visited King's Landing correlates. After thanking Jaime, Ned nods and puts his hand on his friend's [music] shoulder. As Ned and Rob investigate, Littlefinger and Varys keep throwing possible leads that point towards Cersei to conceal their minations. Since Jaime has been in the north for years and refused [music] Cersei's advances anytime he went south to visit Tyrion, he isn't lying about Arin Waters. However, the parentage of Cersei's [music] children wasn't what it was being investigated. Jon was on the verge of uncovering the full breadth of the Blackfire conspiracy, but Varys and Littlefinger had removed him with the intent to delay the war until the right time. Soon enough, Jaime, Ned, and Rob cons consolidate enough proof to confirm that Cersei had been having an affair with Orin Waters. They're about to bring it to Robert, but the hunting party vanishes along with Joffrey and several members of the court. In the vacuum of the queen being absent, Cersei declares Tommen as king. Instead of taking this lying down, Ned and Jaime attempt a coup. After sending out ravens detailing proof of Cersei's treasons, however, Varys and Littlefinger warn Cersei, [music] both Ned and Jaime are arrested and confined to black cells. When the Lannister guards come for Rob, he cuts two down before he runs into the Tower [music] of the Hand and barricades the entrance with his father's desk. After searching for a possible escape, he remembers the story that Reella had told him when she'd wanted him to stay asleep. May go tunnels. As the Lannister guards attempt to break down the door, Rob taps on the walls, tries each stone in the floor, until finally he pulls up a trap door concealed as a floor stone to slip down into the tunnels, grabbing a candle. For almost an hour, Rob wanders around until he tears two voices. Well, that was successful indeed. The former queen will call the North's banners to get her husband back, and Tywin Lannister will defend his grandson's claim. Are you certain that Robert is dead and not just vanished? I have received confirmation from my agents that our good King Robert has been buried along with Joffrey and half the royal courts in the King'swood. I'll go to the Veil then. Lysa is almost half convinced and if I were to marry her, then she will join your cause. Excellent. It's a very good thing her mind is broken. Otherwise, this would be rather difficult. Indeed. Well, I shall be off. Rob waits until the footsteps depart, carefully shielding his candle. Then he stands up and starts walking. So something was going on with Varys and Littlefinger pulling the strings. What it was, he didn't know, but they'd arranged for Robert to die in the King'swood along with most of the court. He had to warn Stannis, or better yet, his mother. Shaking, Rob tries to follow one of the figures until he loses sight of the torch. Sighing, he's about to make a turn when he bumps into [music] a fat figure smelling of lilacs. What are you? Rob doesn't think. Within seconds, his sword lashes out, cutting open the spider's stomach. With a high-pitched scream, Varys drops to the ground, clutching the mortal wound. Desperate and shaking with [music] fear, Rob runs down the passage, trying to find a way out. Eventually, he comes to a door. Hoping that it was a way out, Rob pushes it open. It is a small guard room near the base of the red keep. Thinking quickly, Rob grabs some guardsman live and starts walking through the keep until finally he reaches a spot that overlooks the bay. As he does, a pair of guards see him and run toward him. Not knowing what else to do, Rob leaps from the parapet towards the water below. The news sealed with the golden lion reaches Reella at dusk. As she reads the words, her blood runs cold. >> To the former queen, your husband conspired to commit treason against the rightful heir to the seven kingdoms. Your stepson is dead, flown from the parapit. It is the will of the crown that you come to the capital to ransom Lord Eddard and formerly swear filty to Tom and Baratheon. Refuse and I will remove his head and send it to you. Cersei Lannister, Queen Regent of the Seven Kingdoms. >> Reela's fists clench. Cersei Lannister and her husband had likely killed Rob. The fury from all the years since the death of Rhaegar and his family boils up inside Reela. Without her further hesitation, Riella writes a letter to each of the northern bannermanmen. >> To all faithful Northmen, my husband has been arrested on false claims of treason. He sent me the proof of the crimes of Cersei Lannister before his arrest, and I [music] intend to spread them. The last time a Stark was held in King's Landing, he was murdered in cold blood. Will you allow this? If not, then stand with me and help me bring my husband back to Winterfell. >> Once that was written, [music] she pens a second letter. This one to the Lords of the Seven Kingdoms, sealed with the three-headed dragon of House Tyrell. The lords of the Seven Kingdoms read out the letter. To the lords of the seven kingdoms, I, Reala Targaryen, Lady [music] of Winterfell, former queen of the seven kingdoms, denounce and taint Cersei Lannister as a usurper, tyrant, and adulteress. >> She has imprisoned my husband under false charges after he threatened to reveal her adultery and now seeks to steal the crown for her bastard offspring. To that end, I declare war upon House Lannister, not just for this latest offense against my family, but for all their offenses. >> I call House Lannister to account for all of their crimes. The deaths of Ellia Martell, Aegon Targaryen, and Rainees Targaryen, I lay at Tywin Lannister's feet and call due. To that end, I demand that all loyal lords aid [music] me in bringing justice to the lions of the rock. All those who stand in my way and attempt to obstruct me from bringing my husband home and tearing down the tyrants and usurpers who sit in King's Landing, I and my son and grandson will meet them with fire and blood on the battlefield. This day I also declare my intention to crown my grandson John Targaryen, son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark as lord of the seven kingdoms, king of the Andals and Roya and the first men, as I should have done 15 years ago. To those who claim House Thargen has fallen that I cannot back up my challenge that we are merely northern hostages, that we have lost all dignity and lordship. I say this, when they speak of your house, all they will say is, "Winter came to your house and nothing was left but ash and dust." Riela hands the letters to the maester and sends for Jon, Dany, Ally, and [music] Viseris. >> John, there's something your father and I have been waiting to tell you. You might want to sit down. >> Don and Aia sit in Yo's mans when the magister himself approaches them. Yo, what is it? I received word that Varys is dead. What? One of his agents found him dead in the tunnels in the Red Keep. Someone had opened up his belly. Uh, it looked to have been done in haste, but there is possibility that our scheme will soon be revealed. Step up the timet. We fly to Dawn and the Reach. >> What of the Stormlands? >> They're neutralized for now, but we must move quickly. Renley is taken, but his army was assembled [music] a few weeks ago before he went to High Garden and into our trap. We need Stannis and Tywin to meet. Once the rightful king is dead and Taiwan is gone, the Westerlands and Stormlands will fall to us >> and nothing shall remain but ash and bone. >> With that, the sixth Blackfire Rebellion and the second dance of dragons begins. That's our theory. Westeros is a land filled with exciting stories and possibilities, and we love exploring them.
