What if Anakin realized Palpatine shouldn't know about Padme? Let's explore the depths of it in the video. How do you know the ways of the Force? My mentor taught me everything about the Force, even the nature of the dark side. Anakin, please. I know how much you love her. Let me help you save her. And how is it you know about the two of us? For once, Palpatine does not have an answer. He freezes up and looks at him. He didn't expect the young Jedi to catch on to that. Instead, he tries to quickly think of an excuse, but it is too late. Anakin suddenly springs forward and sweeps his lightsaber at him. The Chancellor's eyes widen as he steps back, igniting his own weapon. He parries the strike and looks at Anakin. His expression changes from surprise to anger as he lunges at him. Fool, did you think you could challenge the powers of the dark side? I have studied these abilities since before you were born. He sweeps his lightsaber towards the young Jedi who must hop back in surprise, but is immediately faced with a downward strike. Anakin halts the attack and braces himself. Their weapons lock as he tries to hold Palpatine in place, but the Chancellor laughs and lets out a burst of force energy that sends Anakin stumbling back. He is upon the young one in an instant while secretly contacting his guards. They clash in a flurry of attacks. Anakin refuses to relent, but Palpatine advances with overwhelming power. He moves slowly and beats aside each of Anakin strikes. Although he is strong, Anakin is unbalanced and his anger is getting the better of him. When he tries to bring his lightsaber down, Palpatine is waiting and throws him back with the force and sends him flying just as his red guards appear, their staffs ready. Four of them surround Anakin just as Palpatine advances and smiles. Suddenly, Anakin is a lot less certain about his chances. When he looks at the group, he takes a deep breath and prepares himself. But the calm does not come. And more importantly, another thought nags at his mind. If Palpatine knows about Padme, then she is in danger. Now, casting one more look at the Chancellor, Anakin turns and runs. The guards give chase, and Palpatine lets them go. He instead turns his attention to the computer and the security footage, working to edit this as he prepares a testimony from the guards on what they will say regarding this incident. Meanwhile, Anakin rushes through the corridors trying to catch his breath. He manages to reach his starship and hops aboard, fiddling with the controls as he tries to contact Padme. To his relief, she picks up and looks confused. Padme, get out of the Senate immediately. You're in grave danger. Anakin, what happened? I'll explain later. In the meantime, get to your apartment. And if you get there before me, start packing. We need to get out of the system. Please, I don't understand. Padme, just trust me. The senator looks at Anakin for a moment and then nods, cutting the transmission off. Anakin takes a deep breath and speeds towards her residence. When he arrives, Padme is there waiting for her, but Anakin brushes past her and begins gathering her things. As he works, he tells her everything. Palpatine, he's the Sith Lord. He's the one the Jedi have been hunting, and he knows about us. He tried to use it to turn me to the dark side. What? Palpatine is the Sith Lord? How did you learn that? Because he told me, Padme, he offered to give me powers to protect you from harm. He tried to use it to turn me to the dark side. I tried to stop him, but he's too strong. What about the Jedi? Do they know? I'll tell them later, but I need to get you out of here, too. I think he might try to go after you, knowing that he's been exposed. This time, Padme does not hesitate and begins adhering to her things as well. She packs whatever she can and then calls for a private ship. Hours later, the two of them are flying away from Coruscant. But as they begin to relax, Anakin reaches for his communicator to contact the Jedi and warn them. But what greets him instead is a video from the hollow feed posted by the office of the chancellor. It shows the encounter with Palpatine, but one heavily edited. Rather than Palpatine manipulating the young Jedi, he confronts Anakin and reveals that he knew about his affair with Padme. He says that he is obligated to report this to the Senate as it is a major conflict of interest. In response, Anakin draws his lightsaber and tries to strike him down. It is only thanks to the intervention of the Red Guards that Palpatines's life is saved and Anakin runs away. It cuts away to reveal Palpatines's face. It saddens me greatly to report that the galaxy's greatest hero, Anakin Skywalker, has committed treason against the Republic. While he has served the Senate and the Jedi dutifully throughout the Clone Wars, his actions here are unforgivable. I urge all citizens to report sightings of him immediately. The Jedi are equally concerned and have agreed to expel Anakin from the Jedi order and have issued a call for his arrest. As the feed dies, Anakin and Padme stare at one another, their eyes widening as they take this news in. This changes everything. As Anakin initially planned on sheltering her on Naboo, but with him now being a wanted man and Padme likely also being searched for, hiding her in Republic space now seems like an issue. The two of them are thrown for a loop. But Padme gets an idea. She takes Anakin's communicator and begins making some calls. However, instead of contacting her Republic allies, she turns to an honorable foe, Lux Bontari. Although now part of the Republic, Andderon was a part of the CIS not too long ago. And Lux never fully trusts the Republic. When he hears about everything that happened to Anakin and Padme, he sympathizes with them. He recalls what happened to his mother, Mina, during the war and agrees to help. He allows them to land on his planet and take shelter in the jungles, using some of the hideouts that he used with the rebels during the war. To their surprise, Sargera joins them, deciding to return home after seeing what the Republic is doing to their greatest hero. He leaves a small band of partisans along with some pre-programmed battle droids to watch over them. They're allowed to remain on a farm where Anakin now spends his time taking care of Padme in anticipation of her impending birth. In truth, Anakin does not mind too much that he's no longer a Jedi. In some ways, it is freeing to not have to worry about them or play by their rules. Instead, he simply enjoys spending time with his wife. Although he worries about her birth, Anakin begins to realize that Palpatine was manipulating him and might not even be in danger. That thought seems to calm him down. And when the day comes of for her birth, the process is difficult, but she at least gives birth to a healthy pair of children, one boy and one girl. But as that happens, the rest of the galaxy falls into chaos. The remaining Jedi, ignorant of the true danger of Palpatine, are completely taken off guard by Order 66. In an instant, thousands of Jedi perish under the blasters of their soldiers. Even Anakin feels the tremors in the force from this little hideout. It is like thousands of voices crying out and going silent. Palpatine frames this as a response to an attempted coup by the Jedi. He explains how after Anakin's assassination attempt, he tried to enforce new security measures in the Jedi Temple to investigate how deep this conspiracy goes, but was rebuked. Palpatine takes that as a challenge and orchestrates a fight in the Jedi Temple that results in the clones storming the entire temple. However, as this happens, Palpatine frames it as them uncovering evidence that the Jedi are attempting to stage a coup against the Chancellor. With the Republic's greatest hero having taken part in an assassination attempt, the public is all too ready to accept this. Not long after, Palpatine has an elite commando unit rush into a fortress on Mustafar, where they eliminate the remnants of the CIS council. Along with that, they deactivate all remaining battle droids. Anakin and Pab watch all of this as their battle droid guards fall uselessly on the ground, and they can only question what is happening. They get their answer days later when Republic ships arrive and begin deploying a clone garrison on Andderant. They see that they are here to hunt down CIS remnants and secure the planet for the transition to the Empire, but they see it for what it is, an occupation force. Within days, they catch wind of rebel activity in the mountains. Several Imperial defectors decide to win favor with the new Empire and tell them about Sawerrera's fighters and more alarmingly, a Jedi. Whispers say it's Anakin Skywalker. The Empire doesn't wait. Troop carriers rise from the jungle canopy, carrying squads of stormtroopers and ATRTs. Blaster fire erupts at dawn. The mountains echo with war as they burst from the jungles and fire upon them. Anakin stands at the front lines, igniting his saber and deflecting blaster fire from the trees while rebels hurry to arm themselves. They soon join the firefight, but they are badly outnumbered. The rebels are slowly picked off and cut down one by one as they are driven back into the facility. However, Lux emerges from the supply cache and reminds them about their droids. With the Force and a rush of memory, he reactivates the dormant B1 and B2 battle droids, using his old tricks as a mechanic. Soon, dozens of droids begin to emerge and turn against the Empire. The droids march, blasters hissing, giving the rebels a fighting chance. But it isn't enough. Lux Bontari takes a blaster bolt to the chest while rallying the others and rectifying a tactical droid. Anakin feels it through the force before he sees it. But the time this buys is enough for the rebels to retreat to Padme's ship where they make their escape. Once they are safe in orbit, the survivors regroup and plan again. Their eyes burn with fire. Saw vows vengeance. Padme, silent and bloodied, looks to the planet below. When she glances back, she looks more determined than ever. We can't let this happen again. But Anakin, Anakin is not whole. He sits apart, gripping the hilt of his saber, trembling. Lux's death hangs over him like a shadow. Palpatines's voice still echoes in his mind, taunting, promising, winning. Anakin remembers the duel the moment he hesitated and the cost that followed. No, I couldn't stop him. I tried. I failed. You stood against him. That matters. It's not enough. I tried to stop Palpatine and failed. Now I'm the only Jedi left. We need to leave somewhere. Anywhere from this war, from the Empire, from him and leave the rest of us to die. I'm telling you, we're not ready. You saw what he is. We don't have the numbers. We don't have the strength. Then we build it. We don't stop. Not now. I'm sorry, but I can't. I already lost so much. I can't fight. Not yet. Then please keep our children safe. Anakin lowers his head, uncertain. He has the power to crush legions, but for the first time, he isn't sure if that power can change anything. He glances at the two crying infants in the back and nods. They drop him off on a nearby planet where he enters a small farm. But as he watches the ship and disappear, Anakin takes a deep breath in size. He closes his eyes and then wonders where the future will take him. The fire of rebellion still burns, but Anakin's flame flickers and the galaxy watches, waiting. Even without him, Padme and Saw begin their rebellion. Anakin is right about one thing, and that is they simply do not have the numbers to risk war with the Empire. So, they turn their attention to gathering new allies. Thankfully for them, they have no shortage of allies to call on. The rise of Palpatine is far from smooth, as many senators, CIS groups, and local defenses all disturb him. Padme might not be a senator any longer, but she still has her connections across the galaxy and begins reaching out to them. Among them are Borgana and Chuchi, who reach out to groups through them. Together, they begin gathering allies, including many former soldiers who are disconnected from Palpatines's new empire. Saw immediately takes this opportunity to strike at the Empire, raiding their forces and sabotaging their supply lines in the Outer Rim, hoping to cut them off from there. Meanwhile, Palpatine uses her connections to gather information about what's going on in the Empire. She uses this information to help rebels gather allies and figure out where to strike. Where it is small, it proves to be a thorn in Palpatines's side who struggles to deal with it. More importantly, he realizes that if they are not dealt with quickly, it puts the Empire at risk as the rebellion can emerge into something more. Palpatine is not foolish, though, and suspects a spy within the Senate. When he learns that Saw is commanding these rebels, he immediately suspects that Padme is responsible. This complicates things as Padme is no fool and will not be easy to deal with. What he needs is a trap. Something so enticing that Padme has no choice but to act. He decides to do this by finding a target she cannot ignore and looks into his files for sightings of Ahsoka. The last he hears is that she fled an agricultural colony and is now on the run with the Inquisitors after her. Palpatine orders them to track her down and monitor her activity, but not to engage her. Soon enough, they find her on a planet in the Outer Rim, where she hopes to slip through the crowds. Palpatine immediately leaks information about this supposedly missing Jedi and orders to hunt her down. This information eventually reaches Padme in a rebellion, who sees this as an opportunity to recruit a Jedi into their force. They direct their forces towards this planet just as a squad of stormtroopers is deployed to apprehend her. But as they swarm the streets, forcing the exile Jedi to go underground, Saw and his rebels fall out as well on the other side of the city. Soon enough, clashes break out between rebels and Imperials. They battle all through the street while Padme searches for Ahsoka. They eventually run into each other in the marketplace as Ahsoka dodges a patrol of scout troopers. Padme, boy, am I glad to see you. Likewise, Ahsoka, I hope you're doing okay, but we're here to get you out of here. The two of them leave the marketplace as the stormtroopers arrive and point at them. They chase after with rebels firing back at them. The whole city turns into a massive game of cat and mouse as they just barely stay one step ahead of the Imperials. When they finally reach their ship, Padme and Ahsoka look to it slowly, but the ship explodes in a display of red and yellow. The shock wave throws them back and leaves them stumbling on the ground as the rebels are tossed off their feet. While they try to get to their feet, the rebels are quickly gunned down. From the flames, a group of shapes emerges. These reveal themselves to be inquisitors led by the Grand Inquisitor himself. He smiles and ignites his lightsaber as his underlings surround them. Though Ahsoka raises her lightsaber, she looks around just as storm troopers rush at them and raise their weapons. She suddenly realizes just how badly outnumbered they are. Elsewhere, on a quiet forest world light years away, Anakin Skywalker trains his children. The clearing is alive with the sounds of morning, birds chirping in the trees, wind dancing through the tall grass, and the laughter of two small children echoing in the cool air. It is not just training, but so much as him spending time with them. Luke, barely four, swings a short wooden stick. His blonde hair bounces as he charges forward with reckless abandon. Leia, younger by minutes but sharper in focus, holds her stick like a miniature Jedi. She moves with a dancer's grace, spinning as she blocks her brother's wild, clumsy strikes. Anakin kneels nearby, watching with a patient smile. His cloak is draped over a tree route. Leaves rolled up to the elbow. He doesn't give them rules. Not yet. They're too young for forms, too unrefined for lightsabers, but they'll learn balance, rhythm, trust. Remember, the force is not just power, it's presence. Feel where your sibling is going, not just where they are. Leia stumbles, but recovers. Luke giggles and leaps off a mossy log. Though Leia is more graceful, Luke has far stronger connections to the Force, and he concentrates, summoning his power to strike back. Anakin chuckles, standing to guide them with a light hand. But Anakin's smile doesn't always reach his eyes. At night, when the children are asleep, he lies awake, eyes open to the dark ceiling of their forest home. The forest never rests. Beneath the piece, it churns with tension. Faint creeping tremors. Echoes of someone screaming through the void. He doesn't want to believe it, but part of him already knows. Though things seem quiet, he knows that this is an illusion. The Empire still exists. They're still hunting him. He can barely rest or let himself relax. Anakin finds himself constantly looking over his shoulder as he checks over the horizon, expecting to see TIE fighters flying just like on Anderant. That night, the visions return. Darkness, the cold metal of a cell. Ahsoka kneeling, her hands bound behind her back, blood on her lip, but defiance in her eyes. She doesn't speak at first. She just looks at him silently pleading. Then a voice, a whisper, slick with venom. You let her suffer, Skywalker. You stayed hidden while the galaxy burned. From the shadows steps Palpatine, but not as the Emperor of the galaxy knows. This vision of him is raw, cracked, flesh burned, robes ragged, but his power unddeinished. Perhaps even stronger. Yellow eyes gleam like twin sons bleeding in a dying sky. Anakin tries to move. You know where she is. I'll let her live if you come to me. Anakin clenches his fists, rage flooding his chest, but before he can reply, the darkness shifts again. A second prisoner appears in a vision. Padme. Anakin feels her presence in the force flickering as if smothered by the same darkness that once devoured him. Suddenly, he rushes forward towards Palpatine and tries to hit him, but the Force energy throws him back and the Emperor chuckles. So, there is a spark of fire in you. I had thought that had died out. Good. Let them go. I'm afraid that isn't up to me. You can reach into the force and find them and act on that information. He wakes with a sharp gasp. His chest heaves. The air feels thick, heavy. The force pounds in his veins like a ward drum. He stumbles outside. The forest is quiet but not calm. He sees Leia's toy, her stuffed Toad doll left near the porch. Luke's wooden stick still leans against the tree. Inside, he hears a tiny cough. His children are asleep, safe for now, but they won't be forever. Palpatine is reaching. He returns to his house and approaches his nightstand. Inside is his lightsaber, which he retrieves and heads back to his starship. He contacts one of Saw's men and tells them to watch his kids as he takes off. Then he's gone. His ship cuts through the stars, heading to Padme's last known location. In the chaos of the city, Anakin searches the underground for any signs of Saw's partisans. The recent attacks on Imperial troops are proof of that. It doesn't take too much effort to track Saw down and finds him in a war scorched moon. Only a handful of rebels remain. Bruised and bitter. They confirm what happened. The trap, the battles, the inquisitors. She saved my life, but they got her. Took her to the mall. Some hidden fortress, black twisted thing. No one comes out. That's all Anakin needs. He tells Saw to keep the Imperials occupied and thanks him for the help as he takes off and heads to the mall. He already has an idea of where that is. As Anakin sits down in his starf fighter, he closes his eyes and reaches out into the force. Padme's presence is something as familiar to him as his own shadow. He takes a deep breath and points to her location and takes off, leaving Saw to hold the line. The Ma prison is a fortress of obsidian and fire. Inside, Anakin storms the halls, carving a path through the inquisitors with brutal precision. He's no longer hiding. The force bends to his will, sweeping stormtroopers aside like leaves in a gale. Though Anakin was in hiding, he never let his skills rot, meditating and training every day. And now he fights. They see what a true Jedi Knight looks like. And this is something the Inquisitors cannot compete with. They had surprise and numbers when they engaged Ahsoka, but now Anakin is the hunter. His force powers unleashed himself, tinged with the dark side. As he fights through the guards, he eventually reaches the detention facility where he finds them. They are bound, injured, but alive. And when they see him, their faces light up as Anakin smiles at them. What took you so long, Skye? It took me a while to realize why I'm here. Can you walk better? We can fight. He smiles and cuts them loose as Anakin gets their weapons and Padme gets a blaster from the ground. Together, the three of them rush out to engage the remaining guards. As the stormtroopers fall, the Inquisitors take their place. They fight the eighth brother, the fifth sister, and the third sister. But as they reach the hangar, it isn't the Grand Inquisitor waiting to stop them. It's Palpatine. Magnificent. Truly, you are power incarnate. Your power remains as sharp and can be honed. You've come far, my boy, but one final choice remains. Kill them or join me. Leave them and rule. Anakin raises his weapon. Their sabers clash, blue against red. Lightning crackles as Palpatine moves to strike him down, but he slides out of the way. The walls tremble from the blow as Palpatine pushes his hand closer and throws Anakin back. Ahsoka leaps up and tries to strike at him, her lightsaber whirling around herself. Palpatine catches this attack though and throws her back. He sweeps his lightsaber and sends her skidding to the ground. Palpatine rushes forward and swings his lightsaber as she tries to cross hers. While it saves her from injury, it still sends Ahsoka flying back. Seeing this, Anakin gasps and lunges at Palpatine. His weapon blazes brightly as he feels the darkness surround himself. Their weapons clash and Anakin presses forward. The emperor laughs and faces off against these strikes, letting them strike back at him, but does not seriously challenge him until he unleashes the darkness within himself and sends him stumbling back. Palpatine advances slowly, looking over at him and bringing his lightsaber down. Anakin tries to block it, but it flies back. You have strength, but you still do not let the dark side flow freely. That is why you lose. He advances towards him, but suddenly turns to face a burst of blaster fire from the corner. Padme advances on him, firing her blaster, she closes in, but she spares a glance towards her husband. Don't listen to him, Anakin. That's not your strength. You've been strong without it. Palpatine tries to break him and fires another burst of lightning, but Anakin deflects it. He lets out all his darkness in this strike and looks down at the boy. Still, Padme tries to fire. Ahsoka gets up and unleashes a force shock wave, weakening the darkness. Anakin, he wants you to forget the time before him. But don't let him do it. Remember what you fought for. Anakin closes his eyes and blocks the lightning strike. He takes a deep breath, feeling his body tensing. However, at the last second, he rushes up and springs forward. Palpatines's eyes widen as his lightsaber is pushed back. He stares up and tries to pull back, but it's too late. Anakin sweeps his weapon across his chest. Palpatine lets out a scream that splits the Force. Anakin drops to his knees, breathing hard. With this defeat, they gather the security footage of the battle across the galaxy and broadcast it just as Palpatines's done before. But this time, there are no lies. And with this, Palpatines's rise to power is thrown into question. Padme and Anakin make their return to the Senate and do what they should have done a long time ago. They confess to their role in their affair, but assure the Senate that they did not attack Palpatine. And with the revelation of his powers, many are inclined to believe them. To prove their worth, they begin working to restore order in the galaxy. That's our theory.
