The night [music] is dark and full of theories. [music] What if Ober and Martell found out about Jon Snow? Let's explore the depths of it in the video. The rebellion is over. Robert has won, but the King's Guard remain at the Tower of Joy. After several reports of a trio of King's Guard standing guard at the Tower of Joy reach Oberin Martell, he decides to act. Rather than a small group, Oberin brings a force of archers and spearmen to the tower. When he arrives, the king's guard wait outside for him. Prince Oberin, what are you doing here? indulging my endless curiosity. Sir Arthur, why are you here rather than defending my sister's husband? Or better yet, my sister? We are commanded to stay here by our prince. Oh, so the Stark girl is in there with his pup growing inside there. Now that is interesting. Well, I'm going to take her off your hands and bring her to Sunspear. No, we won't allow any harm to come to her or the child. I don't really think you have an option. All of my archers have their arrows tipped with manticor venom. Just a scratch is lethal, so I'd rather have you. >> He cuts off as a loud scream comes from the tower. Oberin glances up at the window, then taps on his dagger. Do you even have a maester in there? I could help. I have trained in the citadel after all. I imagine that having a baby die would be rather unfortunate. [laughter] Fine, but if any harm comes to the lady or her child, you will die. Noted. If I can save her, I will. When he enters, he's amazed at how frail the girl is. She was so young and the baby looked to be coming. As soon as he enters, she tries to sit up, then flops back on the bed, holding her belly. >> Prince Orin, are you going to take me away from here? >> Not exactly, but I'm going to help make sure that child leaves. >> She tells him how he's important to the future. How Rhaegar told her about the prince who was promised. That this baby would be that prince. Oh, so you weren't abducted. You're duped. >> No, it's true. The prophecy is real. >> No, it's not. He was lying to you, obviously. Or he was just mad. Prophecy is for stargazers and other such fools. Those of us in the real world don't traffic in them. Save your strength, my lady. I'm going to try and save you both. Over the next two weeks, Oberin attempts to nurse Lyanna back to health, but it seems as though the girl was abnormally frail from her pregnancy, as if some sickness were leeching her life away. Carefully, Oberin tries every trick of medicine he knows. But despite all his efforts, her condition worsens. All Oberin can do is try to keep her company and try to keep her alive. This is something I've never seen before. I think she is sick on top of being pregnant. Something is sapping her strength. Can you tell if the child is healthy? At least I have you no care for the girl. She's the victim in all this of your prince's lunacy. Watch your tongue. Starting a war because of an obsession with prophecy is lunacy. It's completely stupid. You should have talked him out of doing something like this. And yet you allowed him to take this poor diluted girl and now she may die. The child is healthy enough, but you should have got no mace to hear earlier if you wanted to save her. Before Arthur can retort, sounds of horsemen riding toward the tower reach them. Arthur immediately draws Dawn, but Oberin places his hand on the knight's arm. After giving the red Viper a questioning look, Arthur sheets the sword. Oberin motions to his troops to stand down, then walks to meet Eddard Stark. When Ned sees the right viper waving toward him, he spurs his horse forward. When he gets close, he leaps off his saddle and looks at the tower. Where's my sister? Is this where she's being held? Yes, she is. Come with me. She's very sick. Lightly. She doesn't have much time. I'm doing my best. Were you involved in Rhaegar's scheme? No. It was the news of Rhaegar's three favorite king's guard being here that brought me to the tower. Likely the same ones that you heard, but I was closer. So, you've been attending to my sister. Thank you, Prince Oren. I'm in your debt. I have only prolonged her life. There is little I can do besides attempt to save the child. We may have to open her belly in order to save the child, or else both will die. So, Rea did rape her. It's a little more complicated than that, but I'll let her explain it. There's something I should tell you before we go in there. Your sister and her children. What? You s are right. I'm so sorry. I should have gotten to the capital faster, but Taiwan Lannister got there first. I tried to get Robert to punish him, but he refused. I'll kill him. If you want justice on Tywin Lannister, I'll help. I owe you that much for helping my sister. I'll take time, but it'll take time, but we should work together to bring him down. Fine, we should. A loud scream interrupts them. Ned glances up at the tower, then makes a dash toward the structure. After Oberin calls to the king's guard to let him and Ned through, they're allowed into the tower to see Lyanna, whose condition is beginning to worsen. When Ned kneels to Lyanna and takes [music] her hand, she gives him a weak smile. After Lyanna explains the whole story, Ned wipes his forehead and looks down. Oberin can see the other man's turmoil. He'd experienced it himself just now after hearing about Elliot and her children. After the boy is born, Lyanna has Ned and Oberin promise to keep him safe and breathes out the name Aman Targaryen. After she gives the boy his name, her hand goes limp. Ned stares. Ned starts to cry, holding the boy of his sister when Howland Reed enters. Oberin holds the baby Ammon, looking down at the boy he'd worked so hard to save. After treating the baby's mother for the last few weeks, Oberin feels strangely protective of him. Even if his sister had died because of this boy, it wasn't little Aman's fault. Tywin was the one who should die for this. When Ned finally pries himself away from Lyanna and drops into a chair, Oberin sits next to him and hands him the babe. Ned takes the boy in his arms and holds Ammon as close as he had his mother's body just a few moments ago. For a moment, Oin and Ned sit in silence, save for the bab breathing of the baby. Finally, Oin decides to break the silence. What are you going to do now? I'm thinking that I'll take him north. Claim he's my bastard son. I'm quite sorry to be blunt given the circumstances, but who in the seven hells is going to believe that? What? You've been on campaign almost a year, and you didn't bring any women with you down here. The men are going to talk about the boy if asked, and he'll be quite quickly revealed. Your lady wife would likely disapprove since that's how everyone in the north in the Boneway sees bastards. What if there were a different option? You two have some good points. All right. What do you think? Let me take the child. Have the king's guard go to find Viseris and Daenerys and keep them safe so that the boy can live out a peaceful existence in Dorne. He won't be treated any differently than my girls. It's not the first time I've left home and brought back a bastard. I'll just claim that an old flame in the north told me about him and I retrieved him. Why are you offering this? Truthfully, I became fond of your sister while I was attending to her. She had a great deal of spirit and she should have lived out her long, passionate life, and now that possibility is gone, and I want her boy to have the best life he can in a place where he'll be able to blend in and be in a family that will love and accept him without reservations. I don't know. I don't want to let him go. He's the only thing I have left of my sister. Well, what about this? I'll raise him for the first eight years and then you can take care of him for another few or I can take him north on my travels periodically. I would like him to know you since you seem like you're not half a bad person. Thanks, I think. Don't imaginate it. Anyway, what do you think? One more bastard in Dome won't be noticed. Nobody will care. He'll live as a prince's son. All right, Prince Orin. All right, I'll trust you with him. Just keep him safe. Please, I'll treat him like my own son, Lord Stark. You can call me Ned's Oren. We're brothers now. You've earned that. Oberin grins, then takes the boy. The king's guard are initially reluctant to leave Jon in Oberin's hands, but after hearing the argument the Red Viper had given to Ned, they're forced to concede that they would be better off going to find the other children and keep them safe. Remember your vow, Ned. One day we will make Tywin Lannister pay for my sister. Oh, I won't forget. You and I will go on a lion hunt when the time comes. Keep me apprised of how Aman is doing. Smiling, Oberin claps arms with Ned, then departs with his men. When Oberin reaches Sunspear, he immediately goes to see his brother. After Oberin informs Doran about all that happened and shows the boy to him, the prince steeples his fingers and considers the possibilities. >> This has many possibilities. I like the idea of having this boy be the vehicle for the destruction of Tywin Lannister and he could be crowned. Then Ariana could be betrod to him and made queen as Ellia should have been. I concur, but it may take time and it would look rather odd to not have her betrod when she arrives at marriageable age. You're quite right. Very well. We'll encourage the two toward each other. Hopefully, they don't do anything too stupid. We'll see. I imagine my girls will absolutely try to spoil him and Delaria will be a good stepmother to him. Do you intend to tell her? Of course. I keep nothing from her. Just make sure that she keeps quiet about it. We cannot allow the boy's true identity to spill out. After Oberin tells Elara the whole story, his paramore promises to keep the secret and treat Aman just like the other girls. When she takes Ammon in her arms and starts to sing the to the boy, he starts waving his arms towards her, trying to pull her hair. Allaria laughs and taps on his nose, causing him to burble happily. >> He seems like such a sweet boy, Oberin. The girls will love him. >> I think I will be as well. I'm happy that you're going to be my partner in this. >> Of course, Oberin. I appreciate you telling me about Amon. Don't worry, he'll be like any child of ours. >> When night arrives at Riverrun, he's met with Catelyn holding Rob. When he sees his son, Ned walks over to Cat and tries to take her in his arms, holding her close. Catelyn is surprised by the sudden affection, but leans into the hug. >> Cat, I know you don't know me that well, but I'd like to make this marriage work. Would you be willing? >> Of course. Not. And thank you. >> For what? >> For being faithful to me. I'd heard the gossip about you and Shared having a trrist at Harrenhal last year. And when I heard that you went to Dawn, I was worried. >> Cat, I made a promise to you. You're the only woman I've ever been with. and that will not change so long as either of us are alive. Tears fill Catelyn's eyes as she kisses Ned, then looks down at her son with a smile on her face. As soon as they're ready to depart, the Lord and Lady of Winterfell leave for the north. When the King's Guard arrive in Dragonstone, they find that they find that Stannis has already taken island and the Targaryen children have fled. Unwilling to leave their quest, the three sailed away toward Essos to try and find them. However, they're unable to find them. Little do they know that they are in Braavos, but they're in the sea lord's menagerie as the last Valyrians within a house with a red door inside of a glass garden with various fruits growing in the garden. As Oberin predicted, [music] the sand snakes all dot on little Aman save for Oara who is simply indifferent toward the child. They're happy to finally have a little brother after so many sisters. Often he finds them dressing him up like a little doll. Eventually, once he gets a little older, they stop treating him like a doll. instead showing him how to talk and how to walk. Ariana also likes her little cousin, though she'll only occasionally spend time with him once he's too big to hold. However, one night she's in the garden crying about her insecurities about not being pretty enough. When Ammon looks down, concerned for his cousin, Ammon walks down to her and sits next to her. The princess glances at him as he takes her hand. >> Are you all right, Arie? You seemed sad. It sounded like you were crying about not being pretty. So, you were spying on me, you little monkey. >> No, you were just loud. >> Fair enough. >> Wanting to comfort his cousin, Aman wraps his arms around her neck in a hug. >> If it makes you feel better, I think you're pretty. Very pretty. >> You may be a little monkey, but you're a sweet little monkey. Thank you. >> Of course. And if anybody says something different, I'll break their nose. >> You're such a nice boy, cousin. Let me get back to bed. Aaria will be. Before she can finish, Aman plants a quick kiss on her lips and runs off, gasping indignantly. Ariana chases after him, yelling that she's going to catch the little monkey and drag him back to the palace by his ear. After searching without stopping, the king's guard finally discover Viseris and Daenerys, breaking into the seaord's menagerie and rescuing them and escorting them to Pentos. Rather than openly being the last Valyrians, the king's guard assume a ruse where the two are a pair of Tyroi children and dye their silver hair so that they won't be discovered. Once Aman is tall enough, Oberin begins teaching him what he knows about fighting, medicine, poison, and riding. The boy proves a quick study, picking up what his father teaches him, though he often comes away with bruises. Eventually, Ammon is taken up north [music] to be warded with the Starks, looking like a Dornishman with his tanned arms and face. When Catelyn asks why, Ned explains that it's a favor for the Red Viper, who tried to help his sister during her last days in the Tower of Joy. Satisfied with the explanation, Catelyn prepares to receive the Red Viper and his son. When he arrives, Ammon is surprised [music] when Ned looks so much like him, as well as the fact that the Lord of Winterfell seems to have a swell of emotion when talking to the lad. Catelyn smiles as Aman bows gallantly and kisses her hand. >> I'm happy to be here as well, Lord Stark. I'm excited to be a ward. And Lady Stark, you're even more beautiful than I'd heard. >> Why, thank you. Did you teach him how her to flatter ladies, Prince Oberin? Or is he naturally a little charmer? >> No, I did not, Lady Stark. He's got a large bevy of sisters who love it when he gives them [music] compliments. >> Yes, you did, father. You and Ellia both do it. >> Catelyn covers her mouth and starts to laugh, and even Ned cracks a smile. Unable to deny it, Oberin purses his lips and looks down at his nose at Aman with a stern expression as he can manage. The boy just smiles at him with a look of total innocence that was likely about as fake as any forgers documents. Still smiling, anyone bows to Catelyn. >> It's true, Lady Stark. Your red hair is unlike anything I've seen. Lord Stark is very lucky to have a wife like you. >> Can we keep him indefinitely? He's such a sweet boy. >> I imagine he's going to be very popular with the girls. Do I have to worry about him when he gets old enough, Prince Oberin? I don't think you will. I'll be taking him back to Dawn within five or so years. Not enough time to get in trouble. While Catelyn introduces Ammon to Rob and the other children, Oberin and Ned walk into the Godswood and discuss how he's been doing. After hearing that he's a good lad who has a firm sense of justice, Ned is relieved. After discussing his upbringing, Ned puts his hand on Oberin shoulder. You've done well with him, Oberin. He's a good lad. Bit of a flatterer, but I imagine he learned that from you. You're correct there. So, have you thought about what you're going to do when we move against Tywin? Yes, I have. We need to find some means of discrediting him, which will be hard considering his daughter is queen. Yes. And if she's anything like she was when I first met her, she's a [ __ ] She seems relatively fine. Oh, no. She's horrible. You haven't seen her in private when no one is watching, like me and Ellia did when we were invited to stay in the rock. All right. Well, that's not all comforting. I'll loiter around the capital. I have a few agents there already, but it won't hurt to start gathering more. I also would like to continue training him after a few years up here. I know that you have capable warriors, but I've been in the fighting pits in study to kill for most of my life. Though he doesn't want to let his nephew go, Ned has to agree with the Red Viper's logic. Before he leaves, Oberin gives a small notebook along with a quill in an ink bottle box to Ammon. The boy accepts it eagerly, then gives Oberin a hug. Over the next few years, Aman grows closer with the Starks, especially Rob. The boys develop a healthy rivalry, though often Aman will get Rob into trouble. Whether it's putting flour on the kennel master's hounds and setting them loose in the yard or stealing sweets from the kitchen. And every time Aman manages to talk their way out of trouble, the various women in Winterfell find the lad's complimentary nature hard to be angry at, Ned [music] often watches the two boys sparring, wishing he could just tell Aman he was his blood, but he can't. One day, Catelyn sees Aman drawing and looks over his shoulder and sees that he's drawing a girl with Dornish features. >> Who is that, Ammon? She's very beautiful. >> This girl? Oh, Lady Catelyn. This is the most beautiful lady in the Seven Kingdoms. Prince Ariana Martell. I'm just drawing a picture to send back to Dawn for her. >> That's quite high praise. I think she'll like that. You're a very talented artist. >> I hope she does. One day, I hope to get legitimized so I can marry her. Wouldn't that be wonderful? A noble quest indeed. You'll have to work hard and find some great service to do for King Roberts to earn such recognition. You should probably get your lesson with Maester Leuen. >> Ammon smiles and gives her a hug, then runs off to find the maester. Catelyn smiles at the sweet little boy with delusional dreams. She didn't have the heart to tell him that his infatuation was likely fruitless and that Ariana would likely be married for politics rather than for love, especially not to a bastard. Maybe she would talk to Ned. Ask if perhaps they could arrange a marriage for the boy, something within his reach. When she brings the notion up to Ned, he simply shakes his head and tells her that Oberin already has plans for Ammon. Curious, Catelyn inquires as to who, but Ned just shrugs and tells her that Oberin hadn't told him who he wanted Aman to marry. This is a bold-faced lie. Oberin wanted Aman to wed Ariana Martell. But revealing that would force him to also disclose the secret of Aman's birth. While Amane stays in the north, Oberin slips into King's Landing, putting on a false beard and growing out his hair so that he can take up service within the Red Keep undetected. Carefully, he slips through the halls, slowly discovering the passages [music] so he can move through the Red Keep undetected, mapping out the entirety of the castle. Once he's set several informants in the Red Keep, he departs for Dorne. [music] In the south, Ariana becomes more and more frustrated and paranoid about her father. Every suitor he puts in front of her seems designed to infuriate or disgust her. And Quinton and Tristan seem to receive preferential treatment in terms of training over her. She frequently confronts her father, demanding why he's not allowing her to actually try making a good match for her, but he simply fobs her off with excuses. One day, they receive a raven from Winterfell addressed to Ariana. Curious, she opens the letter to find it's a portrait of a younger version of herself. Before she'd grown up in the water gardens. On the back is written to the loveliest lady in the Seven Kingdoms. Smiling, Ariana puts the portrait in a cabinet. She knows exactly who sent it, and it was flattering to know that her cousin was thinking about her. Once he returns to Sunspear, Oberin meets with his brother to discuss their progress. After discussing his meeting with Lord Stark, the infiltration of the Red Keep, and other small preparations, Doran informs him of what he's been doing to make sure Ariana remains single. You do realize that you're setting yourself up for an explosion at some point, right? I don't want to tell her. She could ruin everything by divulging the information. Yes, but if you keep doing this, she's going to start plotting. We have our dragon here with us, and he's a good boy. Besides, he's infatuated with her. While he'll give compliments to anything in his skirt, Aman wants Ariana, and I'm fairly sure that he might try something in order to get a hand. It's all your fault. We should have just said he was my son or just had him raised with me. Would anyone have believed you? Probably not, but it would have made things simpler. Do you think that if we let her in on this plan that she'll not go do something stupid? I know that if we don't tell her, she will for certain do something stupid. I blame you for this. Fine, we'll tell her together. >> Tell me what and why do you think I'll do something stupid? >> We are having a private conversation. Why are you eavesdropping? >> Yes, and I think you should tell me whatever it is you're plotting. >> Do not say anything. I told you so. I told you not to say anything. I didn't listen. Why are you like this? Nice. We were discussing letting you in on a secret plan of ours. >> Now that is interesting. Please go on. Doran groans and glares at Oberin, who simply shrugs and grins cheekily at his brother, forcing himself to not clench his teeth. Doran gestures for Oberin to tell Ariana everything. After the whole story and the plan to put Aemon on the throne and get their revenge on Tywin [music] Lannister. Once they're finished telling her the plan, Ariana Ariana's eyes go wide. Then she tilts her head in speculation. >> No. >> What? >> I know exactly what you're thinking. You're going to seduce the boy as soon as he gets back from Winterfell. Do you think I would need to try? He's been infatuated with me his whole life. >> This is your fault, Oberin. You've done this too early, and you always wait too long, big brother. Besides, it's not going to happen too soon since I'm taking Amon with me to Essos for a few years after his training. >> Are you serious? You can't just promise me a prince and not let me have him to myself. >> You shall have him when he's ready, my niece. But for now, do not tell anyone. It is imperative that if you are to be queen that you don't tell a soul unless we explicitly tell you that they are involved in this plan. If this gets out, everything will be ruined and we will not have our revenge on the old lion. Though she's dissatisfied, Ariana promises to keep the secret of Aman's parentage for now. However, she does ask to be able to send a letter to Winterfell letting Aman [music] know that she is interested in him when Oberin takes him to the free cities. Doran agrees, provided he can review the contents. One person she does tell is Nimriia Sand since she trusts the other girl to maintain [music] secrecy. Also, she knows that Nim will be willing to help keep an eye on Aman for her. Nim agrees, but she has a condition. She gets to share Aman with Ariana since she trusts her cousin completely. Ariana agrees. Finally, after a few years, Oberin arrives in Winterfell to be eagerly greeted by Ammon. After a discussion with the boy, telling him of all that has happened with him in Winterfell, Oberin hands him a letter from Ariana. Eagerly, Aean opens the letter and starts reading it. >> Ammon, your letters to me have been extremely flattering, and I appreciate your drawings of me. They are somewhat out of date, so I've enclosed a more recent one so that you can keep me in your thoughts as you are kept in mind. I know that you're not going to return to me for quite some time. So, I wish to give you my assurances that when you return to Dawn, I will be waiting for you. Hands shaking, Aman pulls the second piece of paper to reveal a more recent portrait of Ariana. His eyes widen as he caresses her face, then carefully then carefully secrets it in his pocket. >> So, back to Sunspear. No, you and I are going to uh take a tour of the free cities. There's some things that must be done there. Casually, he hands a letter to Ned, who accepts and nods. It contains a plan to meet with the king's guard to bring Viseris and Daenerys back to Westeros as Tyrushi foundlings. Daenerys to the north while Viseris is brought to Dorne. Once Ned has read the letter and memorized the contents, he destroys it and sends word to Wyman Manderly that he'll be receiving a lady from lease soon. After a short voyage, Oberin and Aman begin traveling across the free cities, training and experiencing all that they have to offer. Everywhere Aman goes, he learns a new element of combat, espionage, and spycraft from the people that Oren knows from his time in the free cities. Finally, after a few years, they begin traveling back to Westeros. Though they make a stop in Tyrush at a small shop. As soon as the red viper and his son walk up to the shop, the king's guard usher them into an upper room where Daenerys and Viseris are waiting. As soon as Ammon enters, Viseris gives him a glare. So, this is the man who's going to take my crown. Not what I expected. I'm sorry. Uh, can you explain what you mean? Well, Ammon, I suppose this is as good a time as any to tell you that you aren't my son. You are the son of Rea Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. Seriously, you're joking. He's got to be joking, right? >> Everyone just looks at him stonefaced, including Oberin. Aman slowly deflates and purses his lips. Viseris just looks even more annoyed. >> Oh [ __ ] this was something I would have liked to know before coming here. I was hoping that your uncle would have a bit more tact. I was named my father's heir, passing over Aegon. Surely my claim should come before his. I don't care what the king's guards say. He is still a lesseric claimant. Well, I never thought I'd actually be a prince either, so we're both disappointed here. Are you mocking me? Yes. Yes, I am. >> Daenerys puts her hand over her mouth and giggles while Viseris just glares at Ammon, shrugging. Ammon leans against a wall and examines his fingernails. You don't have much of a sense of humor, do you? Not really. No. We should probably change that since we're going to be working together. You want to go drinking sometime? We could find a girl for you. I can't tell if you're mocking me or not. I'm dead serious. I'd prefer to be friends, and how better to show that I'm willing to work with you than go drinking and getting into trouble with you. Casually, Aman puts one arm around Daenerys and then the other around Viserius and walks them out of the house. As soon as they're gone, Arthur stares at Oberin with a baffled expression. Oberin just shrugs and points after them, shaking [music] their heads. Arthur and Oswell follow the three Targaryenss. Over the course of the evening, Aman slowly but surely wears down Viserius's animosity as well as befriending Daenerys. This is done by the simple expediency of getting Viseris blackout drunk, getting him a pair of very attractive prostitutes, and then paying for a room for the night. Satisfied that he's done sufficient work for the day, he sits down next to Daenerys. >> You're honestly taking this all very well. >> Well, why wouldn't I? This is the best thing that could happen to me. I've got two new siblings, a grumpy older brother, and a funny little sister to add to the eight halfsisters I have. and dawn. And I can actually marry the girl I've always wanted to marry. At least after I take the throne, or maybe before I get it, if lucky. >> You're not thinking about the power you'll have? >> Honestly, no. I have been in love with this girl back home. She's a princess, too. Ariana Matel. I've always seen her as the most beautiful girl in the world, and I think she feels the same way about me. Here's a portrait that she sent me. >> She's very beautiful. I wish you both well. I do have to wonder what kind of place I would have. >> Well, I know someone you would absolutely love. He's my best friend from the north, Rob Stark. You and him would get along incredibly well. I guarantee it. [laughter] >> I think that was the plan originally. You might want to go talk with your uncle to get the details. >> Really? Oh, well, I guess I'm smarter than I thought I was. >> Can you tell me about the Seven Kingdoms? I've heard some things from Arthur and others, but I'd like to know more. Of course, little auntie. [music] So, where should I start? After a week in Pentos, when Ammon and the other two Targaryenss get to just [music] spend time bonding together, they actually are beginning to be friends, even to the point where Viseris is able to crack an awkward joke or two of his own. The group set sail back to the Seven Kingdoms. Before they go to Dorne, they make a stop in White Harbor to drop off Daenerys so that she can be transported to Winterfell to meet the Starks. While there, Manderly informs them that the king is traveling north to meet with his old friend, likely to make him hand the king due to the death of John Aaron. Oberin takes a letter that Ned had written to Oberin in preparation for this, and secrets it in his jacket. Once they're sure she's safe with Whiteman Manderly, the group departs back to Dorne. On the way, Viseris and Aemon spar together. Though Aman is much more of a well-rounded, straightforward killer, the older man's dueling technique is almost flawless. Soon, they arrive in Dorne. After they after ensuring the Viseris has his identity as a Valentine lordling memorized, they make their way to Sunspear. Once there, Oberin convenes a meeting of the Martell family to tell them about Ammon's secret, as well as inform them about the next phase of the plan. Their strategy will be able to go into place when Lord Stark is officially named and goes to the capital. Oberin and Aean will go there as Dorne's representatives. After finding out that he's leaving, Ariana and Nimriia Sand exchange looks, then nod in agreement. As they walk out, Ty sides up to Viseris [music] and threads her fingers through his. Surprised, Viseris looks down at the girl, then starts smiling awkwardly as they walk off together. Trying to appear casual, Ariana makes exit the room only to have Aean take her hand. Delicately, he strokes her cheek with his free hand, gray eyes fixed on hers. For a moment, she stands there transfixed by his gaze, then kisses her. For a long moment, Ariana reciprocates, then pulls away. >> You've grown up from that sweet little boy in the water gardens. >> And you're the lady on the outside that you always were on the inside. >> Oh, you're very clever. So, I'm to assume that you'd like me as your queen. >> Of course. I've always desired you, Ari. If you're willing, I would be honored for you to be my queen when I take the Iron Throne. >> Smiling, Ariana kisses him on the cheek and instructs him to meet her in an inn. Eagerly, Ammon agrees. When he slips out of the palace to the designated meeting place, he's surprised when Nim is there. >> So, we've been discovered by Oberin and Doran. >> Not at all. Nim is here at my invitation. >> We've decided that we're going to make sure that you don't wander around when you're in the capital. So, we're going to share you until you and my father depart, and then I'm going to go with you and keep you company. >> And here, I thought you were a possessive girl, Ariana. >> Oh, I am. I just make exceptions for my cousins. Also, she looks the most like me out of all of the sand snakes. >> That is very accurate, actually. Well, I'm not going to complain. When it comes time for them to leave, they depart the inn one at a time, slipping back to the palace. Finally, Aman, Nimriia, and Oberin depart, holding the letter from Ned, declaring him as his adviser on the small council. Martal ambassadors arrive in King's Landing right as Catelyn's ship arrives. As they walk along the docks, Aman immediately recognizes Lady Catelyn and points her out to Nim. Since they have their hoods raised, Aman immediately assumes that they've come on a covert mission. After a quick conversation with Nim, the Sand Snake walks to the pair and escorts them toward an inn. Satisfied, Obern and Ammon enter the Red Keep, only to find that Ned and Robert haven't arrived. Once they become acquainted with a few members of the small council, the two men depart to find where Nim has taken [music] Cat Catelyn and Rodrik. After a short discussion where Catelyn outlines what happened at Winterfell with Bran's two close calls with death first from the fall, then the cat's pawin and Amon exchange knowing looks. What was the timing of the fall exactly? Was anything significant happening? If he was pushed, then that means that something was going on in there. A plot or something embarrassing. Either way, the boy is silenced. >> It was a hunt. Most of the people in the king's party were there. And were there any who did not attend the hunt? >> The queen and her brother, I believe. >> So perhaps that's the reason. Perhaps the king's slayer and the queen were plotting something and they wished to silence him. Or or perhaps something more sorted. >> Sorted? You can't mean >> I don't have anything beyond theories, Lady Cat, but the possibilities are rather low. Can I see the dagger? >> Yes, here it is. It's very rare work. Indeed, this is a very rare weapon. I'll investigate this alongside your husband when he arrives. But you must leave quickly. I think that something is a foot that can be used to defeat the old lion. Once they're sure that Cat and Rodrik won't be noticed, the three smuggle the northerners to a ship bound for White Harbor. When Ned arrives, Oberin quickly takes him aside and tells him about the dagger plot and [music] that it could be the queen and her brother who pushed Bran out of the window and tried to kill the boy. Ned is incensed at this, but he knows now it is not the right time. He must abide his time for the right moment. Both he and Oberin would need to draw Tywin Lannister into the field and kill him. When Oberin and Ned discuss the Lannisters and how to deal with them, Ammon introduces Lady Nim to Arya and Sansa. Arya immediately likes the Sand Snake, even remarking that she'd named her direwolf Nimria. That makes Nim laugh. For the time being, there's nothing to remark on besides the death of Sir Hugh at the hands along with Aund [music] and Nim acting as Ned's agents in the city to trace Jon's investigation. They find Gendry and a few others, but they provide no answers for what the previous hand was looking for. So, the boy said that Stannis was there when John Aaron visited. That's interesting. Perhaps we should request that he come here to give us some answers. It may help. I would like to have another ally in court. Maybe bring Renley in as well. I'll go immediately and talk with him. Ammon and Nim can act as your agents. Both are capable, so you won't have any problems. Where are they right now? Probably making use of the secret passages. I gave them a map, but they're likely exploring them. So, the room isn't true. Are they using it for spying, among other things? What other things do you really want to know? Probably not. Do they at least know they're not related? Oh, yes, that's no problem. I Oren pauses, then grabs a genealogy book and flings it open. Ned gives Oberin a questioning look before Oberin points at the Baratheon entry. After Ned reads through it, he glances up at Oberin in confusion. Then the realization hits him. Oberin has a wicked gleam in his eye. Now they have the chance to remove the old lion from power and burn his legacy to the ground. Turned out they didn't need to send a message to Stannis asking him for answers. However, they would definitely need his ships and troops. Aean and Nim are exploring these secret passages using the map Oberin had made for them when they hear a pair of men whispering carefully. They conceal themselves within a side passage and cover their candles. We have not found Viser's ordinaries, so our plan to put Aegon on the throne using a Dothraki horde will not be feasible. I shall have to create some chaos in that case. Start a war that will bleed the realm dry so that our young prince can sweep in and clean up the mess. Since Ned Stark is aligned with Dawn, do you think they will support Aegon? He is the son of Princess Cele after all. Or so they will think, perhaps. But I doubt Lord Stark will betray his good friend. But if Robert were removed, then we could brooach the topic with Lord Stark and Prince Uber. It is imperative that the boy play the part we've raised him for and that our rules to place a Blackfire on the throne of Westeros come to pass. Aman and Nim exchange looks. This was a plot worse than even the Lannisters. Blackfire pretender sympathizers were in the Red Keep and one of them was the spider himself. Once they're sure Varys is gone, they follow Yo down a side passage. Before he can leave, Aman grabs the fat man from behind while Nims [music] strikes him in the head with her knife. Immediately, he collapses on top of Ammon, causing the young man to grunt. >> Get this fat [ __ ] off of me. >> Choking with laughter, Nim just leans against the wall, covering her mouth to keep from making a sound. With no small effort that he pull off of Jon, tie him up and gag him, then drag the cheese monker to a cell. Once they're sure he's secure, they dash up through the passages until they reach the tower of the hand. Ned and Oberin are discussing the ramifications of the incest when Nim and Aean burst in, falling over themselves to get out everything. Once they've laid everything out, Ned and Oberin take a moment to discuss. They now have two enemies to face off with, but likely the Lannisters were now the lesser of the two in terms of danger. Nimriia suggests that they seize Cersei and Jaime to use against Tywin, but Ned rejects this idea as too reckless. They'd need proof to give to Robert, which then could create a crisis with Tywin rebelling against the crown. What if we simply seize Jaime and Cersei quietly, put them in the black cells along with the spider and Olio, then have me and Nim go to Castile Rock and assassinate Tywin? Without him, the Westerlands will descend into chaos like what happened with Rain and Zabarex. I imagine that Pyal has quite a few poisons we can use. Wait, we're discussing coldblooded murder. No, this is justice for Ellia and her children. Tywin can simply hide behind his troops, his impregnable castle, and simply wait us out, costing gold and limes we don't have. Which is better? That thousands of men die along with Tywin Lannister, or just the old lion himself? Uncle Ned, we can't let Tywin get his troops together for a full-scale war. Not when we have a Blackfire pretender set up as a false Aegon. Let me and Nim bring the old lion to justice so you and can focus on the blackfire pretender. Ned looks at Ammon, seeing in him Lyanna's desire for justice from the attorney at Harrenhal. At that moment, he knows that he has no other options. Casually, he writes out the order and affixes his seal to it. Aman takes the letter and pockets it. While Aman and Nim depart, Ned and Oberin send a message to Dragonstone, asking Stannis to come to the capital to help them in case of a coup. Varys is also seized and locked in a cell with along with Yria. At nearly the same time that Robert comes back, gored by the boar, Stannis arrives to meet with Ned and Oberin. All of them assemble to hear the king's final words. But before he dies, Oberin and Stannis reveal the incest to Robert and Ned reveals the Blackfire plot. Both Renley and Stannis advocate for themselves, [music] but Robert refuses to choose either of them, instead saying that Edric Storm should be legitimized. We need to choose a different claimment, Robert. If you don't make your heir, the realm will descend into chaos. >> Tywin will go to war for his grandchildren. He's not going to just lie down and take it. What if there were a third claimant, the child of someone you loved that your brothers could support? >> What do you mean? Wait, are you [ __ ] joking? Rhaegar and Lyanna had a child. Before anyone can restrain him, Robert rushes toward Oberin and seizes him by the collar, lifting him off the ground. Before he can throttle the Red Viper, the pain of his injury forces him to release Oberin and stumble back to his sick bed. Redley and Stannis exchange startled startled looks before Oberin lays out what happened. Robert blinks, then frowns as Oberin explains that he tried to save Lyanna's life, but she was too sick to be saved, but he had saved the child and raised him as his bastard. We've already put preparations into place to ensure Viseris to Marjgery Tyrell. They've always been strong loyalists to the Targaryenss. All that remains is Tywin. We rebelled against the Targaryenss. The Mad King and Rhaegar. Yes, but this boy is not like them. What of a compromise if we can get rid of Tywin from the rock itself without starting a war? We also have the Blackfires to deal with. If we have a true Targaryen prince to face off against a false one, especially if we can remove Tywin, then we will have a united realm to face this false Aegon. It's a good plan, Robert. He's a good lad. Depends. And if Renley and Stannis support him, he'll make a good king. Fine. Fine. Write this down. If the boy can kill Tywin and escape the rock alive, then he shall be my heir. If not, Edric's storm will be delegitimized. Fair enough. >> All present to agree, though Stannis and Renley are both skeptical of Aman's chances of success. However, what they can agree on is seizing the queen and Sir Jaime as well as Joffrey and placing them in the black cells. Once the city watch is under the control and the ravens have been seized along with Pycel, they begin making preparations for the Blackfire Pretender's arrival. Ammon and Nim slipped into the rock under the cover of night through the docks under some enormous castle. Both of them stare at the impressive visage of the mountain, its silhouette appearing like a line and repose. Once inside, Aman and Nim steal two pairs of servants liveries so that they can move around the castle without being questioned. For days, they watch Tywin's movements, carefully cataloging where he goes within a given day. The main problem is the sheer size of the rock. The entire castle is a city within the rock nearly as large as King's Landing just arranged vertically with much of it going deep into the earth as well as upward into the mountain above. After a few weeks of shadowing the Lord of Castly Rock, they find something very telling. Tywin often disappears from his rooms in the upper areas of the rock two times a week, and nobody can say where he's gone. On days where Taiwan is gone, the two assassins search through his rooms, using some of their experiences in the red key to try and find some kind of passage. One night, while they were searching the rooms under the pretext of cleaning it, they hear a sound coming from behind the cabinets. Ammon and Nim exchange surprised looks and hide outside of the balcony. With a loud creaking noise, the cabinet cabinet slides aside, revealing a passage leading into the rock. Tywin walks into his room, glancing around at the surroundings. Aman and Nim carefully only breathe through their noses. Just killing Taiwan now when he could call for his guards would be suicide. They had to stack the odds in their favor. Carefully. Ammon and Nim wait for Tywin to fall asleep when they draw their knives. Carefully they slip over to the bed and put their blades near his neck and chest. Nim raises three fingers, then folds each of them until she makes a fist. In unison, they drive their blades into Tywin's windpipe and heart. The old line stiffens, then goes still. Ammon and Nim let out a long breath. Then they rush out over the cabinet and push it aside. Their job is done. The two run down the passage until they reach a door. When they do, they discover it opens into a small room in a [music] brothel on a lower floor. Once they are sure what kind of establishment they're in, Nim quickly pulls off pieces of her dress so that it appears more like something a prostitute would wear as opposed to a maid. While Aeon makes himself look like a patron, trying to look as casual as possible, the two escape from the rock and sail away right as the alarm bells start ringing. Aegon and John Conington watch as a set of ships bearing the royal colors sail toward them. They're oddly silent, and the men on the decks seem very still. What do you think, John? I'm not sure. Something is off. Conington is cut off by an explosion of wildfire blasting outward from the Baratheon ships. Connington tries to shield Aegon, but the everexpanding wall [music] of green fire consumes him. The young prince and the rest of the Golden Company's ships. Ned blanches at the sight of the explosion. Renley looks like he's about to be sick. While Oberin and Stannis simply watch him passively, satisfied that the enemy has been defeated. [music] Stannis leans back against the wall and nods to Oberin. Good thinking on the wildfire. How'd you discover the caches underneath the great sept and the red keep? The spider was most helpful when I started applying certain drugs to him. Apparently, the mad king had stored a massive amount of as a contingency during the last days of the rebellion. Well, it now depends on whether your assassins can kill Tin. Soon after the destruction of the Blackfire Pretender, the news of Tywin Lannister's death and his bed from a pair of knife wounds arrives at the Red Keep. Redley and Stannis are now forced to make good on their deal and accept Aean's claim to rule the Seven Kingdoms. When Aemon arrives in the King's Landing, he's welcomed by the small council as Aman Targaryen, first of his name, King of Westeros. Now that he's done it, he sends word to [music] Dorne to send for Ariana so they can be married and crowned together. Viseris's marriage to Marjgery goes through since now he's the prince of Dragonstone. Daenerys is wed to Rob, cementing the North in the Alliance, while Tyrion pledges his support on the condition that Jaime is released. Ned stays on his hand. Nim and Oberin remain in the capital as heads of Westeros's spy network, as well as Oberin being master of laws, while Stannis and Renley take over the finances after Littlefinger is discovered and exposed. Aemon often goes out in the streets of Flea Bottom with his queen and Viseris, becoming a patron of various wine skins. There are some whispers of him having two queens, Ariana and Nim, but never more than whispers. And even then, they're brushed aside as he actively attempts to improve the lives of his subjects. Satisfied that his quest is done, Aman looks out over his city with his two queens. Ariana cuddles into the crook of his arm while Nim rests her head on his shoulder. That's our theory. Westeros is a land filled with exciting stories and possibilities, and we love exploring them.
