The Sith must rise. >> [music] >> What if Plo Koon was on Coruscant when Palpatine tried to turn Anakin? Let's explore the depths of it in the video. The Jedi Council chambers sat bathed in the amber light of Coruscant sunset. The holographic star map in the chamber's center flickered with tactical data. Each glowing point a world bleeding under separatist assault. Master Windu's hands rested on the arms of his chair. The weight of command had etched deeper lines around his eyes these past months. Too many battles, too many losses. Ki-Adi-Mundi leaned forward, his elegant head tilting as he studied the map. What about the droid attack on Cato Nemoidia? Your region, Master Plo, this is. The 104th sent we should. Before Plo could respond, a voice spoke from across the chamber, quiet but carrying unexpected weight. Master Coleman Kcaj rose slightly from his seat. The Ongree master's downturned mouth and prominent eyes giving him a perpetual sorrowful expression. If the council would permit, I have cultivated significant diplomatic relations with the Nemoidian resistance cells. After the Malevolence incident, they specifically requested I lead any future operations in their sector. The chamber fell silent. Plo Koon felt the shift in the Force. The careful consideration rippling through his fellow masters. The Malevolence, that mass of separatist warship, had terrorized the sector until Plo and Anakin destroyed it. The survivors remembered. The Nemoidians trust you specifically. They do, Master Windu. My negotiations with their underground movement have been extensive. If success is our goal, they will cooperate far more readily with a familiar face. The logic is sound. Mission success mattered more than pride or territorial jurisdiction. The Wolf Pack could be deployed elsewhere, and the galaxy was not short of battles. If Master Kcaj's [clears throat] presence would ensure fewer casualties and a swifter victory, then I yield the mission gladly. The 104th can reinforce Master Kenobi's campaign instead. Agreed the council is. Master Kcaj, to Cato Nemoidia you will go. Master Plo, remain on Coruscant you shall. The decision rippled outward like a stone cast into still water. Neither master could see how this single [music] reassignment would reshape the galaxy's fate. Weeks blurred into months. The Clone Wars ground toward their terrible crescendo. Coruscant's skyline filled with military transports. The Senate chamber echoed with emergency sessions. And in the highest tower of the Jedi Temple, the council wrestled with an impossible decision. Anakin Skywalker stood before them, his jaw tight. His presence in the Force a rolling storm of pride and frustration. Behind him, Chancellor Palpatine's political maneuvering had forced the council's hand. Anakin had been appointed to the council itself, the youngest Jedi ever granted such an honor. But not the rank of master. You are on this council, but we do not grant you the rank of master. Anakin's eyes flashed, his fists clenched at his sides. The Force trembled with his anger, and every Jedi in the circle felt it. Plo Koon sat quietly in his seat, the second oldest master present, watching the young knight with concern deepening behind his mask. He had known Anakin since the boy was 9 years old. He had fought beside him, trusted him, watched him grow into a powerful warrior. And he saw now how close to breaking Anakin truly was. What? How can you do this? This is outrageous. It's unfair. How can you be on the council and not be a master? Take your seats, young Skywalker. The meeting concluded in cold, formal silence. Anakin stormed from the chamber, his boots echoing against the polished floor. The council dispersed slowly, each master carrying the weight of what had just transpired. Plo Koon rose from his seat and moved toward the turbolift. His instincts whispered warnings through the Force. That much anger, that much hurt, it festered. It grew. It could consume. The corridor outside opened onto a balcony overlooking Coruscant's endless cityscape. Plo found what he sought. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, master and former Padawan, locked in tense conversation. I understand your frustration, Anakin, but the council's decision The chancellor is the one that got me appointed to the council. He's the one who actually believes I deserve to be there. And now you want me to go spy on him? On the one person who's shown me respect? That's not true. We all believe in you, but you must have patience. The rank of master will come in time. When? After how many more battles? How many more years of proving myself? I've done everything the council has asked. The two men stood at an impasse, neither finding [music] the words to bridge the growing chasm between them. Plo Koon's breathing mask released a soft, mechanical sigh as he approached. May an old friend join this conversation? Both the Jedi turned. Obi-Wan's expression showed relief. Anakin's showed guarded weariness. Master Plo, perhaps you can help me explain. Plo raised one hand, silencing the younger master with kindness rather than authority. He stepped between them. His presence in the Force calm as deep water. Anakin, you feel the council does not trust you. That we see you as a threat rather than an ally. Anakin's jaw worked. He looked away toward the city's glittering expanse. You made me a council member but won't call me master. You're asking me to spy on the chancellor. What am I supposed to think? You were supposed to think that the council is afraid, not of you, young one. Of what we sense in the Force. Darkness gathers around the chancellor like a storm cloud. We cannot ignore it. Yet we cannot accuse without proof. This places us in an impossible situation, including you. The honesty struck Anakin silent. His anger didn't vanish, but it cooled, crystallizing into confusion. You're afraid? We would be fools not to be. The Sith have orchestrated this entire war. We feel their presence in the Senate itself, yet we cannot locate them. Master Windu's request of Obi-Wan is not about distrust of you or disrespect of the chancellor. It is desperation. We are running out of time, and we know it. Obi-Wan watched his former Padawan carefully. Plo's words accomplished what his own could not. They validated Anakin's feelings while reframing the situation. The rank of master will come, Anakin. Your skill is not in question. Your dedication is not in question. But the title carries responsibilities that go beyond lightsaber technique. It requires the wisdom to see beyond yourself, to understand that sometimes the council must make decisions that feel personal but serve the greater good. Anakin's shoulder sagged slightly. The fury that had driven him from the council chambers drained away, leaving exhaustion in its wake. I just I feel like I'm being pulled in every direction. The chancellor wants me close. The council keeps me at arm's length. Obi-Wan needs me to be something I don't know how to be. Plo placed a hand on Anakin's shoulder, a simple gesture of connection that the young knight desperately needed. Anakin, stop trying to be everything for everyone. Be yourself. Be the Jedi who saved my life above Vanquor. Be the man who freed the slaves of Zygerria. Be the friend who has never abandoned those he loves. That Anakin Skywalker is more than enough. Something in Anakin's expression [music] cracked. His eyes glistened, though he blinked the emotion away quickly. Thank you, Master Plo. Obi-Wan stepped forward, his earlier tension replaced with gratitude toward the Kel Dor master. What I was trying to say, Anakin, is that the council needs you to maintain your friendship with the chancellor. Not to spy, but to observe. If you sense anything, anything at all, that confirms our suspicions, you must tell us immediately. What if you're wrong? If he's just a politician trying to win a war? Then we will owe him a profound apology, and I will deliver it personally. But if we are right, Anakin, and we do nothing, the consequences could be catastrophic. The three Jedi stood together on the balcony as Coruscant's artificial lights began to overtake the fading sunset. None of them could see the future. None of them knew how close they stood to the precipice. But for now, in this moment, they stood together. The council convened in emergency session. Anakin stood at the center of the chamber reporting intelligence the chancellor had shared with him. A partial diplomatic transmission from the chairman of Utapau had been intercepted. General Grievous was hiding in the Utapau system. The masters absorbed this information with guarded reactions. After months of fruitless pursuit, the separatist commander's location had simply appeared through Palpatine's intelligence channels. Some found it convenient, others found it suspicious. The discussion turned briefly to politics, the chancellor's emergency powers, the growing darkness around the Senate, the precarious positions of the Jedi Order. Anakin defended Palpatine reflexively, his loyalty to the chancellor clashing with the council's increasing distrust. But the immediate tactical concern took precedence. General Grievous needed to be eliminated. The war could potentially end with his death. Mace Windu assigned the mission to Obi-Wan Kenobi. The choice was logical. Obi-Wan had faced Grievous multiple times and knew his tactics intimately. But Anakin felt the sting of being passed over nonetheless. The chancellor had shared this intelligence with him specifically and had recommended him to lead the assault. The rejection struck him like a physical blow. He had been passed over again. The council trusted Obi-Wan. The council always trusted Obi-Wan. The meeting adjourned. The masters dispersed to their various duties. Anakin remained in his seat staring at nothing, his hands gripping the armrests until his knuckles whitened. Plo Koon did not leave. He waited until the chamber emptied, then approached the young knight's seat. You believe you should have been chosen. Anakin didn't look up. His voice came out flat, hollow. It doesn't matter what I believe. The council has made its decision. The council chose the Jedi best suited for this specific mission. That is not a reflection on your abilities, Anakin. Master Kenobi has pursued Grievous for years. He has studied his cyborg's every tactic. This is simply strategy. It's always strategy. It's always politics. Never about who's actually capable. The Kel Dor master settled into the seat beside Anakin. His breathing mask releasing a contemplative exhale. Plo studied the young man he had watched grow from a child into a warrior. You are going through something difficult, aren't you? Something beyond council politics. Anakin's shields of the force flickered just for a moment. Plo glimpsed the churning fear beneath the anger. Fear so profound it threatened to consume everything Anakin was. I'm fine. When someone says they are fine in that tone, they rarely are. You need not tell me what troubles you, but know that I am here. Obi-Wan will be gone for several days at minimum. In his absence, I offer myself as a confidant. But if a weight is on you, Anakin, you do not have to carry it alone. Something in Anakin's expression shifted. The defensive walls didn't crumble, but they developed cracks. He looked at Plo Koon, truly looked at him, and saw only honest concern. Thank you, Master. I I'll remember that. Plo rose, placing a hand briefly on Anakin's shoulder. The force brought me to Coruscant at this moment for a reason. I do not believe in coincidence. Whatever comes, we will face it together. Anakin managed to smile, genuine. It didn't last long, but it was real. As Plo Koon departed, he couldn't shake the feeling that the force itself had positioned him here. A guardian standing watch over a crossroads. He didn't know what choice Anakin was to face, but his instincts whispered that it would come soon. Very soon. The council chamber's holographic projector flickered to life. Commander Cody's armored form materialized, his helmet tucked under one arm. His expression professional, but urgent. The clone commander reported that General Kenobi had located General Grievous on Utapau and had engaged the separatist leader. The battle was ongoing. Obi-Wan had requested no reinforcements. He believed that 200 clones could handle the situation. The council received this news with cautious optimism. If Obi-Wan succeeded, [music] the war's most dangerous military commander would be eliminated. The separatist droid armies would lose their tactical coordination. Peace negotiations could finally be in earnest. Mace Windu dismissed Cody's transmission and turned his attention to Anakin. The council had a task for the young knight. He was to inform the chancellor that General Grievous had been located and that Obi-Wan was moving to destroy him. But more importantly, Anakin was to observe Palpatine's reaction carefully. The council wanted to know how the chancellor would respond to news that would end this war. Whether he would welcome it or resist it. Anakin accepted the assignment, though confusion rippled through him. Why would the chancellor resist the end of the war? He had been advocating for swift military action for years. Still, he agreed. He would deliver the news and report back on Palpatine's response. As Anakin departed, Plo Koon watched him go, sensing the young knight's internal conflict deepening. The council's suspicions of Palpatine were placing Anakin in an impossible position, caught between two loyalties, trusted fully by neither side. Later that evening, Plo Koon meditated in his quarters when his comm link chirped urgently. He reached for it, sensing the distress through the force even before he heard the voice. Master Plo, I need to speak to you immediately. Privately. Where are you? Approaching your quarters. Please, no one else can know. Within moments, Anakin burst through the door. The young knight looked like he'd been struck by lightning, his face pale, his eyes wide, his entire body trembling. He closed the door behind him and activated the privacy seal with shaking hands. Plo Koon rose from his meditation platform, his calm presence filling the room. Anakin, breathe. Whatever it is, we will address it. He's a Sith Lord. The chancellor, Palpatine. He's the Sith Lord we've been looking for. The words hung in the air like a death sentence. Plo Koon's breathing apparatus cycled once, twice, his mind racing through implications, but his voice remained utterly calm. Sit down. Tell me everything. How did this revelation come to pass? Anakin collapsed into a chair, his hands running through his hair. His force presence screamed with conflicting emotions, betrayal, fear, anger, grief. He asked me to come to his office, private meeting. Started talking about the Jedi, about how they're blind, about how they can't save people from death. Then he just told me. He said he was Darth Sidious. Said he could teach me to save people I love from dying. Plo Koon listened without interruption, his every sense extending through the force. Truth. Anakin spoke truth. The certainty settled into his bones like ice. And you came straight to me. You did not go to him. You did not accept his offer. Anakin's eyes met Plo's, and in them the Kel Dor saw a young man standing at the edge of an abyss, terrified of falling. I I wanted to. He said he could teach me how to save how to prevent What, Anakin? Who are you afraid of losing? It doesn't matter. The point is, Palpatine is the Sith Lord. That's what you need to know. It matters very much. Sidious does not offer power for its own sake. He offers solutions to specific problems. He identified your fear and weaponized it. If I'm to help you resist his influence, I must understand what he's using against you. Someone important. Someone I care about. That's all you need to know. Is it someone in the Jedi Order? A fellow knight or Padawan? Who is in danger? No. No one in the Order. Then someone outside it. Someone you have formed an attachment to, despite the code's teachings. Anakin stood abruptly, pacing to the window, his hands clenched and unclenched at his sides. This is exactly why I can't tell you. You'll report it to the council. They'll use it against me. I've already been denied the rank of master. If they know about this, they'll expel me entirely. Anakin, look at me. The young knight turned, his eyes blazing with fear and anger. I give you my word as a Jedi, as someone who has known you since you were a child, that I will not report this to the council without your consent. Whatever you tell me stays between us until we've decided together how to proceed. But I cannot help you if you do not trust me. Trust. Everyone keeps asking me to trust them while keeping secrets from me. You're right. The council has not been fully honest with you about our suspicions of the chancellor. That was a failure on our part. But this moment, right now, is your chance to break that cycle. Trust must begin somewhere. The silence stretched long and painful. Anakin stared at Coruscant's glittering expanse, his internal war written across every line of his body. The silence stretched long and painful. Anakin stared at Coruscant's glittering expanse, his internal war written across every line of his body. If I tell you, everything changes. My life in the Order, my position, everything I've worked for. And if you don't, and you return to Palpatine seeking his forbidden knowledge, you will lose far more than your position. You will lose yourself. It's someone in the Senate. Someone I've grown close to. We've known each other for years, since I was a Padawan. And I We The words stuck in his throat. Even now, with Plo's promise of confidence, the admission had felt impossible. You love her. Yes. And she is in danger. I've had visions, Master. She's going to die in childbirth. I've seen it, Master. Just like my mother. I see her suffering and I can't I can't lose her. She's everything to me. The Kel Dor's breathing apparatus cycled slowly as pieces fell into place. Childbirth. Not just an attachment, then. Something deeper. Who is she, Anakin? Padmé. Senator Amidala. We're we're married. She's pregnant with our child. The confession hung in the air like a death sentence. Anakin's entire body trembled, waiting for judgment, condemnation, the end of everything he's built. Instead, Plo Koon simply rose and placed a hand on the young Jedi knight's shoulder. Thank you for trusting me with this. Understanding flooded through Plo Koon like dawn breaking over a dark ocean. Everything clicked into place. The secrecy, the chancellor's manipulation, the impossible pressure Anakin had been under. The young knight hadn't been tempted by power. He'd been tempted by love twisted into desperation. You will not lose her, Anakin, but you must trust the Jedi, not a Sith Lord. Palpatine is lying to you. The dark side cannot prevent death. It can only cause it. How do you know? How can you be sure? Because if the Sith could truly conquer death, Count Dooku would still be alive. The ancient Sith would have lived forever. They sought immortality for millennia and failed. Palpatine offers you a lie wrapped in your deepest fear. Do not take the bait. Anakin's hands covered his face. His shoulder shook. When he finally looked up, his eyes were red. What do I do? Plo Koon activated his own comm link, his mind already calculating the next moves on this deadly game board. Commander Wolffe, this is General Plo. I need you to take a squad to the Senate apartments immediately. Senator Amidala is to be escorted to the Jedi Temple. Her safety is paramount. She is to be told that her husband has insisted upon this protection. Roger that, General. Moving out now. Plo turned back to Anakin, his voice brooking no emotion. You will go to the council chambers and wait there. Padmé will be brought to you, and I am going to contact Ahsoka Tano. She needs to know what has happened. Why Ahsoka? Because she is your sister in all but blood, and Padmé is your wife and your anchor. If I know one thing about you, Anakin Skywalker, it is that you will listen to those two women when you will listen to no one else. They will keep you safe from making a choice you cannot take back. Tears streaked down Anakin's face. Relief, fear, gratitude, all mingled together. He nodded mutely. Thank you. Thank you, Master Plo. Go. Take care of your wife. Trust in the force. And Anakin, you made the right choice, the hardest choice. Remember that in the hours to come. The council chambers filled rapidly. Plo Koon had activated the emergency protocols, summoning every Jedi Master on Coruscant. Mace Windu arrived first, his face carved from stone. Kit Fisto followed, his perpetual smile absent. Saesee Tiin, Agen Kolar, and Shaak Ti assembled in grim silence. In the center of the chamber, Yoda's hologram shimmered. The Grand Master still on Kashyyyk, but his presence felt nonetheless. Master Plo, your message said this was critical. What has happened? Plo stood at the chamber's heart, his breathing mask cycling steadily. When he spoke, his voice carried the weight of civilizations crumbling. Chancellor Palpatine has revealed himself to Anakin Skywalker as Darth Sidious, the Sith Lord we have sought throughout this war. Anakin has reported this to me directly. The Chancellor attempted to turn him with promises of forbidden knowledge. The silence that followed felt like the universe holding its breath. The Chancellor? Are we certain? Anakin has no reason to lie. He came to me in a state of genuine crisis. Palpatine specifically offered to teach him how to prevent someone's death, manipulating to the young knight's deepest fears. Long have I suspected. Wrong I hope to be. Deceived us all Palpatine has. We must act immediately. If Palpatine realizes Anakin has betrayed his confidence, he will either flee or activate whatever contingency plans he has prepared. Moving against the Supreme Chancellor without Senate approval could trigger a civil war. Allowing the Sith Lord to remain in control of the Republic guarantees galactic tyranny. We have no options, only necessary ones. Yoda's hologram flickered as the ancient Master considered their position. Finally, he spoke with the weight of 900 years behind his words. Arrested Palpatine must be. To trial he must come. But carefully we must proceed. Master Plo, trust you I do. Enough Masters present have you? Plo surveyed the chamber. Six Jedi Masters stood ready, including himself. Six of the Order's finest warriors against a Sith Lord who had orchestrated the Clone Wars, manipulated the Senate, and concealed himself from the entire Jedi Council for over a decade. We will be enough. We must be. I will lead the arrest. We will lead it together, Master Windu. This is not about glory or authority. This is about ending the Sith. The two Masters locked eyes. After a moment, Windu nodded. Together, then. The six Jedi Masters activated their lightsabers in unison. Blue, green, and purple blades hummed to life, casting the chamber in multicolored radiance. May the Force be with you. All of you. When return you do, a new Republic we must build. Or die trying. The hologram faded. The six Masters moved toward the turbolifts, their faces set with grim purpose. Behind them, in a guarded chamber three levels down, Anakin Skywalker sat between his wife and his former Padawan's hologram. Padmé held his hand. The three of them could only wait as the galaxy's fate hung in the balance. Palpatine's office overlooked Coruscant's Senate District like a throne room surveying an empire. The Supreme Chancellor stood at his window, his hands clasped behind his back, a satisfied smile playing at his lips. Young Skywalker would return soon. The boy could res- couldn't resist. The fear of his wife would drive him straight into Sidious's arms. And then the door exploded inward. Six Jedi Masters strode through the smoking wreckage, their lightsabers ignited, their faces carved from righteous fury. Palpatine turned, and for one instant genuine surprise flickered across his features before melting into serpentine amusement. Master Windu. Master Plo. I take it young Skywalker told you of our conversation. How disappointing. I thought he understood what was at stake. In the name of the Galactic Senate and the Republic, you are under arrest, Chancellor. Or should I say, Darth Sidious. Palpatine's smile widened, revealing teeth that suddenly seemed too sharp. The Senate? I am the Senate. And you will not stop what I have set in motion. His hand shot out. Lightning screamed from his fingertips. Not the theatrical display he would use in to feign weakness, but raw, undiluted dark side fury. The attack blazed toward the Jedi like a destroying angel. Kit Fisto's blade intercepted the first bolt. Agen Kolar's blade caught the second. But the sheer power behind the assault drove both Masters backward, their boots scraping against the polished floor. Spread out. Don't give him clustered targets. The six Jedi exploded into motion. Saesee Tiin launched himself left, his blade spinning. Shaak Ti rolled high, her green lightsaber humming. The Masters did not charge in a line. They attacked as a coordinated unit, each approach cutting off Palpatine's escape routes. Palpatine's hand moved faster than a human sight could track. His lightsaber materialized from his sleeve, igniting with a crimson scream. He became a blur of dark robes and red light, moving with speed enhanced by decades of dark side mastery. The Chancellor, no, the Sith Lord met Mace Windu's open opening strike with a devastating force. Their blades locked, energy crackled. Palpatine's face transformed from grandfatherly politician into something ancient and terrible, his eyes burning yellow with Sith corruption. You think six Jedi frightening me? He spun his blade, disconnecting from Windu's and slashing horizontally. Kit Fisto ducked. The crimson blade passed through the empty air where the Nautolan's head had been a microsecond before. But Palpatine's momentum carried him into a spinning kick that caught Agen Kolar in the chest. The Zabrak Master crashed backward into the wall. Plo Koon struck from the left, his blue blade descending in a vertical slash aimed at Palpatine's shoulder. The Sith Lord twisted impossibly, his spine bending at angles no normal human could achieve. His counterstrike launched toward Plo's exposed side. Shaak Ti's blade intercepted it. The Togruta Master stepped into the exchange, her second hand joining her first on her lightsaber held for added strength. She drove Palpatine back three steps. Saesee Tiin pressed the advantage, his blade carved through the air in an aggressive Shii-Cho form, raw power behind every strike. Palpatine parried the first blow. The second, the third forced him toward his desk. The Sith Lord's free hand snapped forward. Force lightning erupted again, this time at point-blank range. Saesee Tiin's lightsaber caught most of it, but the overflow washed over his shoulders. The Iktotchi Master screamed, his body convulsing. Mace Windu roared and lunged, his purple blade a streak of lethal intent. Vaapad, the form specifically designed to fight dark side users. Users. Windu channeled his inner darkness through the blade, creating a superconducting loop that fed on his opponent's fury. Palpatine felt the pressure. His lips peeled back from his teeth. You will die. All of you. He released Saesee Tiin and focused entirely on Windu. Their blades became streaks of light moving too fast for the eye to track. Purple and red clashed, separated, clashed again. The Force itself screamed with violence of their exchange. Kit Fisto and Agen Kolar flanked the duel, waiting for an opening. Plo Koon moved to Saesee Tiin's side, helping the injured Master to his feet. His robes smoldered, but he lived. Don't stop. End this. Shaak Ti circled wide, her lightsaber held in a defensive Soresu stance. She watched Palpatine's footwork, analyzing patterns, searching for the moment of vulnerability. Palpatine drove Windu backward with a flurry of strikes. The Sith Lord's technique combined multiple forms, the aggression of Djem So, the precision of Makashi, the speed of Ataru. Centuries of Sith knowledge flowed through him like a poison. Your power has blinded you, Sidious. My power has freed me. The Jedi are extinct. They just don't know it yet. He spun, disengaging from Windu and launching himself at Kit Fisto. The Nautolan raised his blade to parry, but Palpatine's free hand thrust forward. Force push. Kit Fisto flew backward, crashing through Palpatine's desk in an explosion of wood and electronics. Agen Kolar charged in, his blade aimed at Palpatine's back. The Sith Lord whirled impossibly fast, his crimson blade intercepting the strike. Their faces came close enough for Agen to see the yellow corruption burning in those ancient eyes. Weak. Predictable. Dead. His blade twisted, found an opening, slid past Agen, scarred and pierced the Zabrak's heart. The Jedi Master gasped, his eyes going wide. His lightsaber deactivated and clattered to the floor. Palpatine withdrew his blade and let the body fall. Plo Koon felt Agen's death in the Force like a physical blow. Rage threatened to consume him. Rage at this creature who had orchestrated so much suffering, who had twisted a government into tyranny, who had nearly destroyed Anakin Skywalker. But Plo was a Jedi. He transmuted his rage into resolve. Converge. All at once. The remaining five Masters attacked in perfect synchronization. Plo from the left, Shaak Ti from the right, Mace Windu straight ahead, Saesee Tiin still injured supporting from range with Force pushes, Kit Fisto recovering and circling behind. Palpatine stood at the center of a storm of lightsabers. His blade moved faster than thought, parrying Plo's strike, redirecting Shaak Ti's thrust, meeting Windu's overhead slash. But five opponents were more than even Darth Sidious could handle indefinitely. A Jedi Master was the pinnacle of martial achievement. Five Jedi Masters fighting with perfect coordination represented power that could topple nations. Palpatine felt it. For the first time in decades, he felt doubt. He reached deep into the dark side, drawing on reserves of hatred that had festered for a thousand years. Lightning exploded from his body in all directions. Not aimed, just raw, destructive fury. The Jedi Masters threw up barriers of Force protection, their lightsabers spinning to deflect what they could. Saesee Tiin, already weakened, caught too much. The lightning seized his muscles, stopped his heart. He collapsed, dead, before he hit the ground. Two Masters down, four remaining. But they had seen Palpatine's desperation. They pressed harder. Mace Windu's Vaapad spiraled tighter. His blade found Palpatine's shoulder, burning through the robes. The Sith Lord hissed in pain and rage. Plo Koon struck low, his blade angled to sever Palpatine's right leg. The Sith Lord leaped, but Kit Fisto anticipated the move. The Nautolan's blade slashed upward, catching Palpatine's left hand. The hand fell, still clutching the crimson lightsaber. The weapon deactivated as it hit the ground. No! He landed awkwardly, his shoulder burned, his hand severed. Dark side rage poured from him like poison. His remaining hand thrust forward, lightning crackling, but Saa Ti's blade intercepted it, redirecting the energy harmlessly into the ceiling. Mace Windu's blade descended toward Palpatine's neck. The Sith Lord's yellow eyes widened, not with fear, but with impotent fury. At the last moment, his expression shifted to something almost like satisfaction, as though even in death he had won something intangible. Windu's blade completed its arc. Darth Sidious, Sith Lord, Supreme Chancellor, architect of the Clone Wars and the fall of the Republic, died in his office overlooking the city he had nearly conquered. His body collapsed. The yellow faded from his eyes. The dark side presence that had poisoned Coruscant for years dissipated like fog before the sun. The four surviving masters stood in the wreckage of the Chancellor's office, breathing hard. Their robes scorched, their faces grim. They had won, but the victory felt hollow as they looked at their fallen brothers. Plo Koon deactivated his lightsaber and knelt beside Saa Tiin's body. The Iktotchi master's face held a peaceful expression, his duty fulfilled. May the Force be with you, old friend. Mace Windu's comlink chirped. He activated it with a hand that trembled microscopically. Ended the battle has. Feel it, I did. It's over, Master Yoda. Palpatine is dead, but we lost Agen Kolar Saa Tiin. The silence that followed held profound grief. Honored their sacrifice will be. Saved the galaxy you have, all of you. Kit Fisto sank into a chair, his head in his hands. Saa Ti stood at the window, looking out at the city that had no idea how close it had come to eternal darkness. Plo activated the emergency broadcast system, the one reserved for declaring martial law or alien invasion. His voice would reach every government office, every military command, every news network. This is Jedi Master Plo Koon speaking on behalf of the Jedi Council. Supreme Chancellor Palpatine has been revealed as Darth Sidious, Dark Lord of the Sith and architect of the Clone Wars. He has been confronted and killed while resisting arrest. Vice Chair Mas Amedda is under investigation. All clone commanders are to report to their respective Jedi generals immediately. The Senate is to convene in emergency session within the hour. The Republic stands. The Sith are extinct. The war is over. Across Coruscant, the transmission echoed. In military bases, in military bases, the Jedi generals prevented their clones from executing Order 66. In the Senate, politicians scrambled to understand what had just happened. In the temple, Anakin Skywalker collapsed in relief. Padme's arms around him, Ahsoka's hand on his shoulder. The galaxy had been saved, but the scars would take generations to heal. The Senate chamber erupted in chaos when Mace Windu presented the evidence. Recordings of Palpatine's conversations with separatist leaders, encrypted files detailing his manipulation of both sides, his lightsaber, the testimony of six Jedi masters. The investigation lasted 3 weeks. Mas Amedda confessed to his role. Sly Moore vanished before she could be arrested. The Republic's entire power structure had been rebuilt from the foundation up. Through it all, Anakin Skywalker stood before the Jedi Council one final time. His face was calm now. The desperate fear that had nearly consumed him replaced with quiet acceptance. Anakin Skywalker, the Council has deliberated on your future within the Jedi Order. Your marriage to Senator Amidala violates the code. However, your choice to report Darth Sidious rather than accept his offer to save the Republic these factors must be weighed. Masters, I understand the difficulty of your position. With your permission, I would like to resign from the Jedi Council and take a leave of absence from the Order. My wife is pregnant. She needs me and I need time to understand who I am outside the war. You have grown wise, young one. The Council accepts your resignation. Your rank of Jedi Knight remains intact. When you are ready to return, you will be welcomed. Thank you, Master Plo. Thank you all. Yoda taps his gimer stick against the floor. A true Jedi you have proven yourself to be. Not through power, but through choice. Proud of you we are. Naboo's lake country shimmered under the sun. The villa stood surrounded by gardens, its stone walls warm with afternoon light. Inside, Padme Amidala, no longer senator, choosing family over politics, rested on a comfortable sofa. Her pregnancy advanced but healthy. Anakin sat beside her, his hand on her swollen belly. The visions had stopped. The medical droids assured him that both mother and babies were perfectly healthy. Twins, a boy and a girl. The door opened. Ahsoka Tano entered, carrying groceries. Her montrals decorated with fresh flowers. I still can't believe you two kept this secret for 3 years. 3 years, Skyguy. We're good at secrets, Snips. >> Anakin, we're terrible at secrets. The three laughed together. Ahsoka set the groceries down and joined them, curling up in an adjacent chair. The afternoon stretched before them, peaceful and warm. Anakin looked at his wife, at his former padawan, at the life he had nearly destroyed in a moment of desperate fear. Gratitude filled him so completely it hurt. I almost lost all of this. But you didn't. You made the right choice. Master Plo knew you would. That's why he stayed on Coruscant. The Force works in mysterious ways. Outside, the lake waters lapped gently against the shore. In orbit above, the war fleet slowly demobilized. Across the galaxy, clone troopers removed their armor and tried to imagine lives of peace. And in the Jedi Temple, masters debated how to rebuild an order that had grown too rigid, too blind, too disconnected from the very people they swore to protect. But here, in this moment, three people who had survived the darkness simply enjoyed the light. Padme's comlink chirped. She activated it, smiling. Just checking in. How are mother and children? We're well, Obi-Wan. Very well. Good. I'll be visiting next week. Someone needs to make sure Anakin isn't teaching those children terrible habits. My habits are excellent. Ahsoka and Padme exchanged glances and burst out laughing. The transmission ends. The three of them sat together as the sun tracked slowly across Naboo's perfect sky. War was over. The Sith were dead. And Anakin Skywalker, husband, father, Jedi Knight, had chosen love over fear, trust over betrayal, light over darkness. One decision, one conversation, one Jedi master in the right place at the right time. Sometimes that's all it takes to save a galaxy. That's our theory. The Star Wars universe is a galaxy filled with exciting stories and possibilities, and we love exploring them.
